Activities at Hagley Place Care Home
Activities plays a big part in the care we deliver to residents; activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.
Mandy Hayward
I have a long background in the care industry and love to incorporate the outdoors in my activities. This role is very special as it allows me the time to get to know our residents and their families in a deeply personal way.

Life at Hagley Place Care Home
Birthday Celebration
After a request by a resident for a special birthday, Michelle and Nicky decorated her room and the dining area where her and her husband always have lunch together. Our wonderful performer, Robert Burton, personalised the entertainment to include the birthday girl, ensuring that she had a birthday to remember. The kitchen created a special, personalised birthday cake especially for her.
Harvest Festival
Hagley Place welcomed the local community into the home to join us in the Harvest celebrations. The local church came and performed a lovely service for us all. The residents and staff alike thoroughly enjoyed the occasion. Many people commented on the wonderful harvest display donated by the families and friends of our residents.
The dried and tinned goods were given directly to the Ludlow food bank on the day, then the fresh produce was sold off and the money was taken down to the food bank later.
Animal Madness
Residents and staff alike were excited to welcome bunnies, bugs and beasties again into the home. It was a great session!
Animal Party
Residents were thrilled to welcome a very friendly guinea pig, rabbit, snake and spider into their home for an afternoon of animal madness! They could stroke and hold everything except the spider, and were delighted to see the exotic creatures up close.
Musical Memories
Hagley was enthralled and entertained when the very talented Robert Burton came to play the accordion for us. Staff and residents were singing and dancing along to his wonderful songs and melodies!
Hagley Goes on Safari
Residents at Hagley Place went on safari at the West Midlands Safari Park. We had a fantastic time seeing all of the exotic animals, and it brought back some lovely memories for residents of time spent in Africa and India.
After seeing the animals, we treated ourselves to a lovely lunch and then off we went, travelling back in time around the dinosaur exhibit! Coming back to the present day, we found ourselves surrounded by the brightly coloured lorikeets, which flew over our heads and landed on us, enticed by a small pot of nectar!
