Activities at Hampton Grove Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Why did the chicken cross the road?

To meet the residents at Hampton Grove.

And it wasn't just chickens who came to visit, but one of the oldest Hamsters in the UK. Hammy.

Hammy the Hamster met the oldest resident at Hampton Grove, Charlotte of 103 years old, Hammy has a bit if away to go to catch up as he's only 5 although that's around one hundred years old in human years!

The activities team arranged a fabulous afternoon of entertainment also with guinea pigs, tortoises, rabbits, dogs and cats visited form Michelle's Animal Therapy & Petting Party.

The chicken was quite a Comedi-hen as he parched on top of the residents Zimmer frame while the dogs & cats sat on laps of delighted residents & were stroked & cuddled!

International flower day

Residents took part in flower-based activities throughout the day including a flower arranging competition, reminiscing about their gardens flowers which everyone really enjoyed. Their collective knowledge about flowers gained from years of gardening experience was very impressive.

Creating Memory Boxes

What's better than creating memories? Making memory boxes to store them in!

Each one of our residents in Memory lane are creating their own memory box personalized to them, placing things that will help them remember what they have done, where they have been.

Photographs and newspaper cuttings, Looking at old pictures of friends and family can help to stir happy memories and help those who are living with Dementia remember.
