Activites at Hampton Grove Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Meeting the alpacas

Today at Hampton Grove we had the pleasure of Gorefield Alpacas visiting.

Five beautiful alpacas came to meet us. Residents helped feed them and got to stroke them. Two went into the home and did a few bedroom visits which residents loved.

Animal therapy is the best kind of therapy for people with dementia. Visits from an animal can be an energetic experience or an exciting part of a person's day.

Summer has come early!

Today was such a beautiful day at Hampton Grove.

We decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and spend some quality time in the garden eating ice lollies and playing music. Some residents even got up dancing.

Ladies Day at Aintree

Thousands of racegoers are enjoying a day at Aintree racecourse for its annual Ladies Day, which is part of the Grand National Festival.

Ladies Day is traditionally one of the biggest days in Liverpool's social calendar when women - and men - are invited to dress to impress.

More than 150,000 people are expected to attend the race meeting, with the festival finishing on Saturday.
So at Hampton Grove we thought we would join in wearing our hats to impress, as it was Grand National day.

Mothering Sunday

Mother's Day is a celebration honouring the mother of the family or individual, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on different days in many parts of the world, most commonly in March.

Hampton Grove celebrated Mothering Sunday by doing a little flower arranging then receiving a little gift, and having families join us for our Mothering Sunday Lunch.

Homemade Soup!

Residents at Hampton Grove wanted to try and make their own soup. So they picked a recipe which was Parsnip & Apple with Honey.

The parsnips were cut up along with the apple added to vegetable stock, the honey and seasoning for flavour.

Cooked with the soup maker for 20 minutes. Residents loved it and couldn't get enough of it and will definitely be doing this again, maybe with some home-cooked rolls too.

Games at Hampton Grove

Today at Hampton Grove, we tried a new game by placing all the white ping-pong balls in one basket and all the coloured balls in the other, using both hands one ball at a time, at the same time.

This activity was great for movement and memory co-ordination, even the staff struggled with this game!
