Activities at Hilton Park Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Jenelyn Szabo
Hello, my name is Jenelyn and I am the head of activities here at Hilton Park.
Having started my Barchester journey as a carer back in 2019, I have gained good experience of working closely with our residents. After being a carer I then moved onto the Activities team and thoroughly enjoyed working as an Activities co-ordinator, which led to my promotion to Activity Lead.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing the smiles on our residents faces.

Flower Arranging Club at Hilton Park
We are very lucky at Hilton Park to have a great relationship with the local Co-op who give us their flowers at the end of the day on a Monday so our residents can enjoy their weekly flower arranging activities. Throughout the week, Hilton Park have wonderful flowers on display as well as the residents having their own in their rooms.
Here is our resident enjoying a well-earnt tea and biscuit break after beautifully arranging these flowers for decoration in all communities around Hilton Park
Our Baby Pgymy Goats came to Visit!
What a lovely day we had at Hilton Park Care Home.
While we are still a few months away from Spring and seeing some warmer temperatures, it felt like it today because we had the baby Pygmy Goats visiting us here at Hilton Park!
We were extremely lucky and overjoyed to hold these 6-week-old bundles of love. Residents came into the Atrium to have a cuddle, and the goats were also taken around to individual rooms for residents to enjoy too. We had 6 in total visit us, aren't they just beautiful?!
We highly recommend and would love to thank Blackwater Alpacas and Pygmy Goats, Braintree.
Head to our Carehome.co.uk page to see more pictures with our furry friends!
Alex Southgate performed us our Christmas Songs for our Countdown!
Many thanks to Alex Southgate for his wonderful Christmas performance last week, the residents absolutely loved singing along, we look forward to seeing you in the New Year too!
Remembrance Day at Hilton Park
Gone but not forgotten. We had a beautiful week for Remembrance Sunday planting Poppy seeds, listening to songs sung by Amanda Scott, songs like ‘We will meet again’ and ‘White Cliffs of Dover’ and finally, watching the service together on Sunday.
A two minute silence was held for the men and women in service, those that have fallen, and those who continue to dedicate their lives to the service, we thank you. Here pictured are some residents who enjoyed a trip outside to scatter the poppy seeds, and who enjoyed a special live performance
Improving our game with our residents!
At Hilton Park, we are always wanting to improve the environment for our residents who live here.
This week, we have added an array of new board games in our beautiful lounge at Trinity House. Our residents enjoy our games afternoons and know where they are when they want to play on their own!
There is nothing better than some good old traditional board games.
