Activities at Hilton Park Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Jenelyn Szabo
Hello, my name is Jenelyn and I am the head of activities here at Hilton Park.
Having started my Barchester journey as a carer back in 2019, I have gained good experience of working closely with our residents. After being a carer I then moved onto the Activities team and thoroughly enjoyed working as an Activities co-ordinator, which led to my promotion to Activity Lead.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing the smiles on our residents faces.

Life at Hilton Park Care Home
Happy Chinese New Year!
The Atrium at Hilton Park was decorated with beautiful lanterns, streamers and residents enjoyed a selection of Chinese Teas and delicacies. We had a brilliant afternoon together celebrating the year of the Pig.
Happy 100th Birthday Dr Cynthia!
Celebrations have been in full swing at Hilton Park Care as one of its residents reached her centenary in style. Dr Cynthia Phillips was joined by staff, relatives and other residents as she received a telegram from the Queen in recognition of her landmark birthday. An Afternoon Tea was held and guests enjoyed cake and a special Trifle made by the home’s chef Rob Lindsay. Reflecting on reaching this special birthday Dr Cynthia said: “I do not really have any tips but I always enjoyed hill walking when I was younger and have a reason to get up every day!”
Roses are Red this Valentines at Hilton Park
Our Stitch and Chat Group at Hilton Park had been busy knitting beautiful roses for our Valentines party with live music from Romy which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. The Stitch and Chat group meets every Tuesday in the Trinity Lounge at 2.30pm. Blankets for charity, Hats and Vegetables for our Harvest Festival? They knit it all and are always looking for new projects and members too!
Play Your Cards Right
We rounded off the year with a visit from Mike Coppins, who brought his 'Play Your Cards Right' game to Hilton Park. This is always a favourite and brings out the competitive nature of residents as they try to beat Mike at his own game.
Santa Visits
Residents were delighted to receive Christmas gifts from Santa, and staff all dressed in their best festive attire to add to the Christmas theme.
Honey Visits Hilton
Staff and residents were thrilled to meet Honey the Shetland pony when she visited Hilton Park.
Honey visited residents in the lounges and their individual rooms. She was totally at ease, and even used the lift to access the first floor rooms!
Honey surely brought the Christmas spirit to Hilton Park and we would like to say a big thank you to Amanda, her owner, for bringing her to visit us, and hope for a return visit in the summer.
