Activities at Hilton Park Care Home

Our residents enjoyed a fantastic day out in the local community, filled with laughter, connection, and memorable moments. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make the event such a special occasion.

A highlight of the day was watching the vibrant Morris dancers perform. Our residents were delighted to meet the dancers afterwards, enjoying the opportunity to chat, learn more about this wonderful tradition, and share in the community spirit.

We also enjoyed exploring the beautiful church, spending time with friends, and making new connections – including a lovely furry friend who helped make the day even more memorable.

The day was rounded off perfectly with delicious burgers and hot dogs, along with warm cups of tea and coffee, as everyone came together to support and celebrate our local community.

It was a truly wonderful occasion, and we look forward to creating more special memories together.

A baby is a beautiful blessing that brings love, joy, and countless precious moments to a family’s journey. Recently, a special surprise baby shower was held to celebrate Diana and the exciting arrival of her newest little blessing.

The occasion was filled with smiles, laughter, warmth, and heartfelt wishes as colleagues and friends came together to share in this wonderful milestone. It was a lovely opportunity to create special memories and show Diana how much she is appreciated and cared for.

Wishing Diana and her growing family every happiness, love, and joy as they prepare to welcome their little one. May this new chapter be filled with many precious moments and unforgettable memories.      

It’s been a truly moving day as we hosted both group and individual Virtual Reality Therapy sessions.

Technology has given us a wonderful gift: the ability to "travel" without leaving the room. Today, our residents used VR headsets to revisit cherished places from their past, sparking beautiful memories and heartfelt conversations.

Seeing the smiles and hearing the stories as they "walked" through familiar streets or sat beside favourite landscapes from years gone by has been an incredible experience for everyone involved. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, reminding us that while time moves forward, the places we love remain with us forever.

Thank you to everyone who took part in today’s sessions and shared their memories with us. We are delighted to see how Virtual Reality Therapy continues to bring joy, connection, and meaningful experiences to our residents.         

Residents and families at Hilton Park enjoyed a lovely morning together in the garden, making the most of the very warm weather while enjoying refreshing ice lollies, music and the cooler breeze under the trees.
Everyone enjoyed sitting together listening to old sing-song favourites and spending quality time outdoors with family, friends and team members. The atmosphere was filled with smiles, laughter and relaxation as everyone enjoyed the sunshine and fresh air.    

The ice lollies were especially appreciated during the recent hot weather and helped residents stay cool while enjoying the morning entertainment and peaceful surroundings.

The morning created a wonderful opportunity for residents and families to socialise, relax and enjoy simple pleasures together in a cheerful and calming setting.

Celebrating National Pizza day is just one fun way that our Activities Team incorporate and build fun into the daily life of the Residents at Hilton Park.

Our Activities Co-ordinator decided to go one step further and create an in home trip to Italy. Passports were issued and our Residents enjoyed a trip to Italy to experience a fresh fruit breakfast followed by a lunch of delicious Italian themed treats and Pizza.

By taking regular feedback and requests from our residents we can enhance our life enrichment program to suit the interests of the residents.

National Carers Week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and recognise the incredible carers whose dedication, compassion, and commitment make a meaningful difference every single day.

To mark this special occasion, the team came together to enjoy some well-deserved treats, delicious food, and a moment of appreciation for the amazing work carried out throughout the year. While this week highlights the vital role of carers, it is also a reminder that exceptional care is achieved through teamwork and the contribution of every member of the team.

Each team member plays an important part in creating a warm, supportive, and welcoming environment for residents. Their kindness, professionalism, and commitment help make the home a special place where residents feel valued, respected, and cared for.
A heartfelt thank you goes to all carers and team members for their continued hard work, compassion, and dedication. The difference they make is truly appreciated.      

The Wimbledon spirit was brought to life at Hilton Park with a fun-filled day of activities, laughter, and friendly competition.

Despite a little breeze, the weather did not stop residents from enjoying a Wimbledon-inspired tournament. The morning began with an exciting game of balloon volleyball, and when the wind picked up, the activity was adapted with a soft ball, so the fun could continue.

The tournament was filled with smiles, encouragement, and wonderful teamwork, creating plenty of memorable moments for everyone involved. After the excitement of the games, residents relaxed in the sunshine, enjoying refreshing drinks and delicious fresh strawberries in the garden.

It was a fantastic way to celebrate the start of Wimbledon, bringing together friendship, fun, and the joy of summer days spent outdoors.         

We had a truly splendid day today, taking our residents for a scenic boat trip along the Great River Ouse.

The weather wasn't quite on our side, but it was certainly worth the effort. Once aboard, everyone settled in to enjoy the picturesque views and local wildlife, sharing wonderful conversations with fellow residents and volunteers alike. The air was filled with laughter and nostalgic stories of past trips to the river.

To make the afternoon even more special, our activities team provided warm refreshments and treats, which the residents enjoyed while soaking up the beautiful scenery. A huge thank you to all the volunteers who accommodated us and looked after us so well; we already can't wait for the next one!          

At Hilton Park our Residents enjoy an array of daily activities planned by our dedicated Lifestyle enrichment team. The Activities team take regular feedback for the Residents and ensure that the monthly calendar of events and activities is aligned to their wishes and interests.

Spring is upon us and the Residents at Hilton Park decided they would like to brighten the home with some fantastic flower arranging. Some of the displays they made were amazing and colourful. This type of activity is beneficial duw to the social and cognative benefits.

By taking regular feedback and requests from our residents we can enhance our life enrichment program to suit the interests of the residents.

At Hilton Park we support and encourage our residents to continue doing the things they love whilst also making new friends. We hold regular activities that help or residents use cognitive and motor skills to provide holistic benefits that enhance the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of residents.

Our Residents enjoyed making some gifts ready for this coming Valentine's Day including floral displays and creating personalised cards.

Our Activities team always plan activities in line with current calendar events.

The home was filled with joy, laughter, and celebration as residents, families, and visitors came together for a memorable Ladies’ Day event, following England’s fantastic football win.

With the beautiful summer weather providing the perfect backdrop, everyone enjoyed a relaxing afternoon in the garden, sitting beneath the shade of the magnificent walnut trees while sharing refreshments and enjoying fantastic live entertainment from Elvis.

The garden came alive with music and celebration as residents sang along, waved flags, and embraced the wonderful atmosphere. The afternoon was made even more special by the elegant ladies who looked stunning in their colourful fascinators, adding a touch of glamour and style to the occasion.

It was a truly delightful day filled with music, friendship, laughter, and cherished moments shared with family, friends, and the wider community.

Rain or shine, the Aloha spirit was alive and well today! 

We hosted a vibrant Hawaiian-themed BBQ, and not even the British weather could dampen our spirits. It was wonderful to see our residents joined by their families, as well as some friendly faces from our sister homes, Oaklands Care Home - Barchester Healthcare and Melbourn Springs Care Home - Barchester Healthcare.

Between the delicious BBQ, tropical music, and plenty of dancing, everyone had a fantastic time. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special! 

A huge well done and thank you to all our staff, who worked incredibly hard to make the event such a success.

Residents from Hilton Park enjoyed a wonderful trip to Scotsdales Nursery and Garden Centre, where the colourful flowers, beautiful displays, and cheerful atmosphere made for a truly special day.

There were plenty of smiles as everyone explored the garden centre, choosing favourite plants and admiring the vibrant blooms. The outing was filled with laughter, lovely conversations, and the simple joy of spending time together in such a beautiful setting.

To round off the day, residents treated themselves to some delicious refreshments and shared lots of happy memories together. It was a heartwarming excursion enjoyed by all, and we’re already looking forward to our next adventure!         

National celebrations and family-friendly events are just some of the ways that we ensure the residents at Hilton Park remain connected with their loved ones and the wider community.

Our Residents enjoyed celebrating London Fashion Week by having a London style fashion show. The whole team at Hilton Park got involved and what an event. Our Residents donned some super frocks and hats and enjoyed a stroll down the cat walk.

At Hilton Park we support and encourage our residents to continue doing the things they love whilst also making new friends and exploring new adventures.

At Hilton Park we celebrate birthdays not just as a mark of ageing another year but as a celebration of life, achievements, and personal growth. It's a time for reflection, gratitude, and looking forward to future possibilities. Birthdays provide a special opportunity for us to help residents to gather with loved ones and create lasting memories.

It Beryl one of residents birthdays this week and she celebrated in style with a homemade cake, entertainments and a party to remember.

Creating special memories while our residents are with us is an essential part of our life enrichment programme.
