Activities at Hilton Park Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Jenelyn Szabo
Hello, my name is Jenelyn and I am the head of activities here at Hilton Park.
Having started my Barchester journey as a carer back in 2019, I have gained good experience of working closely with our residents. After being a carer I then moved onto the Activities team and thoroughly enjoyed working as an Activities co-ordinator, which led to my promotion to Activity Lead.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing the smiles on our residents faces.

Life at Hilton Park Care Home
Summer Fete 2024
It was Summer Fete time for Hilton Park at the weekend and whilst we did not have the weather to host the Fete in our stunning gardens, it did not stop us from having a wonderful time.
There was live singing and a brass band along with an authentic hot dog stand and plenty of ice cream to go around.
It was so good to see so many happy faces and we look forward to welcoming you all back to Hilton Park very soon.
And the winners are........
Very exciting news to come out of Hilton Park.
Barchester have held their annual Divisional Awards and we are very proud to announce that our very own Jenny Szabo has been awarded the Activities Co-ordinator of the Year and Jacqui Woolgar has been awarded the Resident Ambassador of the Year for the Central Division.
This is amazing news and acknowledges the amazing work that both Jenny and Jacqui do for Hilton Park. They will now both be going to the Care Awards Finals evening in October where they will represent both Hilton Park and Barchester Healthcare nationally.
Well done Jenny and Jacqui. We are incredibly proud of you both.
Wilbur's special visitors
We have had a lovely day out to Darwin Nurseries & Farm Shop where we got to see a wide range of the animals (including Wilbur the Pig) and also the amazing selection of freshly grown fruit and vegetables. This was all topped off with a nice steaming mug of tea!!
The residents had a great time and we cannot wait to visit again very soon.
Garden life and exercise
We are so fortunate at Hilton Park to have amazing grounds and yesterday morning the residents enjoyed a lovely walk around the gardens. We were even joined by one of our 4-legged friends!!
In the afternoon we enjoyed some seated exercises. Exercise is good for the body and the mind and the residents always enjoy these sessions.
Creativity wins the day
We have been setting the residents the task of getting as creative as they possible can with the colouring in pens and it is safe to say that have haven't disappointed.
It is so rewarding to see that our residents get so much out of their days at Hilton Park.
Trip down memory lane
We had a lovely short trip yesterday to Bottisham Airfield Museum for their annual event, Bottisham at War 2024, where we saw many people dressed in 1940s uniforms as re-enactors. When we asked Dorothy if she would like to visit the museum, she expressed concern that it might be too cold for her. We reassured her that she would be warm and comfortable.
Dorothy had a great time meeting people there. She became quite famous as she was, at 104 years old, the oldest person present and a veteran herself. Everyone was delighted to meet Dorothy.
