Activities at Hilton Park Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Jenelyn Szabo

Activity Coordinator

Hello, my name is Jenelyn and I am the head of activities here at Hilton Park.

Having started my Barchester journey as a carer back in 2019, I have gained good experience of working closely with our residents. After being a carer I then moved onto the Activities team and thoroughly enjoyed working as an Activities co-ordinator, which led to my promotion to Activity Lead.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing the smiles on our residents faces.

Dog Therapy Visit

The residents and staff were pleasantly surprised as these lovely dogs showcased their talents and even visited our dog lovers who were in their rooms. It truly brightened our day. Thank you so much for visiting us.

Classic Car Show

We are grateful for all the support we received. A heartfelt thank you to all classic and vintage car and motorbike enthusiasts who joined us this afternoon. Our appreciation also extends to every member of the Cambridge Classic And Vintage Car Owners' Community who participated in today's event. Your presence truly added to the occasion.

A special acknowledgement to our fantastic entertainer who made the event even more lively. The families and residents were truly amazed by the beautiful vehicles and the convivial atmosphere.

To our friends, families, staff, volunteers and especially the activities team who organised this event, your hard work was instrumental in making this event a success.

We would like to express our gratitude to everyone involved. Your contribution made this gathering a remarkable one. Thank you.

Wish Came True Today!

Another wish came true today. One of our residents, Richard, and the activity team went to Waterbeach Angling Club to make Richard's wish come true.

Richard was overwhelmed to hold the fishing gear again after 20 years. We are incredibly thankful to Colin, a member of the Waterbeach Angling Club, who sat with Richard for a couple of hours and provided everything he needed.

Richard caught lots of fish and released them back into the water. We returned to our home with a fulfilling feeling, knowing we made Richard so happy.

50th Wedding Anniversary

Today is an enchanting day as we celebrate John and Margaret's Golden wedding anniversary. It's an absolute honor for us to be a part of this momentous occasion, witnessing every cherished moment of this beautiful couple's love story. The way they gaze into each other's eyes is breathtaking, and it's evident that their love is still as strong as ever. We also extend our gratitude to Debbie Lee for adding a touch of magic to the celebration, while Adriana, our talented chef, prepared a stunning cake with Monika's help.

Bottisham Airfield Easter Visit

Today, we had a lovely trip to Bottisham Airfield Museum first open day of the year. We enjoyed chatting with the volunteers, who shared with us the history behind each sculpture. We also had the opportunity to get up close to their P51 Mustang replica fighter plane and take a photo with it. We invited all interested residents to join us for coffee,  Alin, our maintenance staff, drove the mini-bus to take us on additional trips to bring more residents along. We are grateful to the Airfield Museum in Bottisham for their warm welcome and for showing us around. Lastly, we wish everyone a happy Easter from all of us at Hilton Park!

Easter Celebrations

We had an absolutely fantastic day here at Hilton Park with our residents, families, friends and staff. Everyone loved the live music by Elvis, and the farmyard animals, particularly Alfie The Therapy Horse and his friends, petting corner were a hit with the kids who enjoyed stroking and carrying them, as well as hunting for eggs. After the garden party, Alfie even visited individuals to say hello! Our chef Camelia made a delicious homemade Easter Cake, and we also had hotdogs for everyone to enjoy.
