Activities at Hurstwood View Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Lisa Everson
I’m Lisa, Activities Coordinator here at Hurstwood View.
I’ve been working at Hurstwood View in varying departments since 2017, shortly after the birth of my second child. With a strong background in Marketing, events, and community engagement - Activities is a great fit for me! I love arranging events and making a difference to our residents’ day. I’ve never danced so much since working here, no day is ever the same, and we really do have so much fun!

Life at Hurstwood View Care Home
Care Home Open Day
We were treated to live entertainment by Brian, who played on the keyboard and sang some songs for us. Residents had a lovely time, with some even getting up to dance.
Flower Arranging
The sun was shining and, to add that special touch to the home, we decided to do some flower arranging in recognition of Dementia Awareness Week. Everyone involved was very proud of their creations and cannot wait to show them off to family and friends at our tea party later in the week.
Duck, Duck... Duck!
Claire from Petpals brought us 11 ducklings, which are from their neighbour's pond. We all got to hold and stroke them; they were only a week old and some even made a visit to residents' rooms.
Lamb Visit
We were honoured to have the lambs visit as part of our Easter celebrations. May and Madge were great company who enjoyed a bottle of warm milk with us and everyone got to have a stroke, although May was more demanding than Madge, so she got a little more fuss.
Doris Turns 100
Our second 100th birthday of the year was celebrated with an afternoon tea, music and plenty of fun and laughter. Our chef prepared a delightful cake and everyone gathered to sing happy birthday.
Pancake Day
We got into the spirit of things by having sugar & lemon flavoured pancakes with our lunch. In the afternoon, we all had a lot of fun flipping pancakes and enjoying them again, but this time with fruit and a variety of sauces.
