Activities at Hyacinth House Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Anna Wasiak
I am a friendly and enthusiastic Activity Coordinator with a passion for working with people and making a positive impact in their lives. I joined Hyacinth House in 2024 as a carer and excited to now be the Activities Coordinator. I have eight years experience in hospitality and three years in floristry. I bring creativity, strong interpersonal skills and a warm welcoming approach to my role. My background has given me the ability to connect with individuals, organise engaging activities, and create meaningful experiences that brighten people’s days. I love inspiring others, fostering a sense of community and bringing joy through thoughtful and inclusive activities.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Gala Dinner Celebrations
We hosted a special pre-Christmas festive celebration for our residents and their loved ones, featuring superb live music by Mark Busell followed by Neil Wookie. Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner, rounding off a truly wonderful evening and full of holiday spirit!

It's Christmas!
Christmas day at Hyacinth House, we celebrated a warm and joyful time with our residents and their loved ones, we also had the pleasure to welcome our local community into our home to spend Christmas with us.
Merry Christmas to you all and may this festive season be joyful to you and your families.

Musical Trio
Eveline is a cherished member of the Canford Magna Parish Church (and a long-time attendee) she has been sharing her love for the parish since she moved in to Hyacinth House.
We offer support to Eveline to ensure she can still attend church, if not each week you can see her and our residents in the comfort of our lounge watching the live stream. In November, Eveline had a wonderful idea: Why not bring some of the talented church singers to entertain the residents? Of course, we jumped on Idea.
Our residents were all smiles, tapping toes and singing along as we listened to their beautiful and traditional pieces including walking in a winter wonderland.

Spreading Festive Cheer in the Community
Our General Manager, Kamila and Home Services Advisor, Jane, brought the spirit of the season to life by delivering special Christmas gift boxes of brownies and shortbread, lovingly prepared by our hospitality team. These treats were shared with our local community neighbours, with warm wishes for a Merry Christmas.
Then off to deliver a generous food collection, put together by our team and residents, to the incredible team at Ferndown Community Larder. They do essential work supporting those in need, especially during this extremely busy time of year. The team there are always grateful for additional donations to help them support those who need it most this holiday season. Together, let's keep the spirit of giving alive!

Twinkling lights, festive vibes and a whole lot of holiday cheer!
Last night we grabbed our hats and scarves, before heading out for a magical hour to look at the wonderful array of Christmas lights on properties, in particular Runton Road, known for the elaborate displays!
From sparkling reindeer to glowing snowflakes, every corner was bursting with the Christmas Spirit. The oohs, aahs, and even a few ‘WOW, look at that one!” made it all so special there’s just something about Christmas twinkling lights that brings out the inner child in all of us!

A visit to see Tops Day Nurseries: Wimborne for their Carol Concert.

Thank you to Tops Day Nurseries for having us there, it was wonderful!
