Activities at Kingfisher Lodge Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Botanical Gardens Visit

We have been making the most of the glorious weather we've had recently and took a trip out in the mini bus.

Some of our residents and their family members joined us for a visit to the Botanical gardens in Bath’s Victoria park.

It was such a peaceful afternoon taking in our surroundings. Its was a treat to take a walk and admire the unusual trees and flowers which were in bloom. We were even entertained by the squirrels who played all along our walk.

Our trips out are obviously not complete with out a delicious slice of cake and coffee.

Dog Show

At Kingfisher Lodge we recently held our dog show and what a fantastic day it was!

A big thank you to everyone that joined us and of course their wonderful dogs. The day was filled with laughter, love and some furry cuddles.

There were lots of different categories for our furry visitors to enter, with many of them coming away with some delicious treats to enjoy.

Congratulations to all our winners and a special shout out to all the dogs that were on their best behaviour that day.

We cant wait for next years!

Mini Fisher's Baby and Toddler Group

At Kingfisher Lodge we have launched our new baby and toddler group "Mini Fishers".

Its a group for parents and their little ones to come and join us for a morning of fun, laughter and play!

Intergenerational groups are so important for not only our residents but our younger community. Just look at the smiles on all our residents faces!

We had the pleasure of being joined by some very well behaved little ones and their parents of course.

Our general manager Claudia couldn’t even resist coming along and having cuddles.

Visit to Slimbridge Wetlands Centre

We recently jumped in the mini bus and took a trip to to Slimbridge wetlands centre.

We had so much fun going around the reserve and seeing the different varieties of birds there.

The main birds you couldn’t miss though were the Geese and they were magnificent albeit very clumsy and silly when trying to get to the food.

Of course our trip was not completed with a stop for some delicious lunch. We enjoyed tasty meal of fish and chips in the lovely Kingfisher cafe.

Trips out are an important part of our life enrichment program at Kingfisher Lodge.

Mini Bus Trip to Longleat

What a fabulous time we had visiting the brilliant Longleat Safari Park!

Our residents had a fabulous adventure on our recent mini bus trip as we went on the hunt for some exotic animals.

We spotted some amazing lions, zebra and of course those playful monkeys who enjoyed climbing all over our mini bus. Longleat is surrounded by beautiful gardens and our residents thoroughly enjoyed exploring the landscape. The weather was glorious with the sun shining all day. It was a prefect excuse for a quick ice cream stop.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us on this wonderful trip, it truly was an amazing day
