Activities at Lawton Manor Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Chloe Cameron

Activities Coordinator

This is Chloe and she is our Activities Coordinator here at Lawton Manor. Her job is to physically and mentally stimulate our residents by offering a range of activities for them to enjoy. She wants to get everyone involved and make our home community and atmosphere as positive and welcoming as possible.

Making sure that our residents have things to do that they really enjoy doing is something that Chloe holds very close to her heart. It is so important to make sure that they are happy and enjoy all of the activities and events that we host for them. A lot of our residents also enjoy our special trips out on our Minibus as we create new, special memories together.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Life at Lawton Manor Care Home

Reach, Stretch & Flex

Residents have loved playing indoor ball games including basket ball.  We not only compete but also work on some reach, stretch and flexing exercises

Games can get quite competitive and the residents love a laugh with each other in a morning games session

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Residents enjoyed a coffee morning with delicious homemade cakes and biscuits.

It was lovely to part of Macmillan’s biggest coffee morning event as they do so much for our communities and is a cause close to many people’s hearts.

Last night of the Proms

We celebrated Last Night of the Proms virtually with members of English National Ballet’s Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Music Director Gavin Sutherland.

We listened and danced along as members of the orchestra took us on a magical, musical journey. English National Ballet Philharmonic is made up of many of the country’s top musicians, and boasts considerable experience in all forms of music-making. With insights and anecdotes into what it takes to conduct an orchestra for a world-class ballet company, this special concert got our feet tapping, arms waving and hearts singing!

It was a wonderful experience, enjoyed by all.

Keeping Fit with Bee-Active

We certainly are busy bees at Lawton Manor.  "Bee Active" hosted a great exercise class delivered by coaches Corey and Matt.  We are looking forward to the next class to keep active and feel the benefit!

Blue Skies

We are blessed this summer and have enjoyed a glorious  day out to Llandudno, North Wales on a hired air conditioned coach as the home's mini bus could carry all the day trippers

Residents took in the views, atmosphere, magnificent Victorian architecture and blue skies then enjoyed picnic lunches of sandwiches & cakes.  Traditional Fish n Chips on the prom was in order too followed by a stroll along the pier were everyone enjoyed a delicious 99' ice cream.

The weather was glorious, residents have been so pleased to start back with their regular trips, it couldnt have been a better day out for all of us

Sparkly nails

Residents are throroughly enjoying pamper days at Lawton Manor's Salon for manicures and hairdressing.
