Activites at Lawton Manor Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Chloe Cameron
Activities Coordinator
This is Chloe and she is our Activities Coordinator here at Lawton Manor. Her job is to physically and mentally stimulate our residents by offering a range of activities for them to enjoy. She wants to get everyone involved and make our home community and atmosphere as positive and welcoming as possible.
Making sure that our residents have things to do that they really enjoy doing is something that Chloe holds very close to her heart. It is so important to make sure that they are happy and enjoy all of the activities and events that we host for them. A lot of our residents also enjoy our special trips out on our Minibus as we create new, special memories together.
Celebrating life at Lawton Manor Care Home
Exercise and Pamper!
We’ve had such a busy but fun day! We had a pamper session this morning, by our lovely activities assistant Kim. Kim then took Nancy outside, with her hot chocolate to enjoy some fresh air and look out for some naughty squirrels!
Meanwhile, Chloe, our activities coordinator, held a group session of sports. We played floor darts, basketball & some catch.
We love staying active, working on our throwing skills, even getting a little competitive while we’re at it!
Baking!
Yesterday, our fabulous activities assistant, Kim, baked Rocky Roads & Jam Tarts with Barbara, Michael, Nancy & Doug.
We got creative (even stealing biscuits and chocolate here and there) using puff pastry to create our tarts, with the best jam we could find.
We loved creating them as much as we did eating them!
Trip Out
We would love to wish Laura a huge happy birthday! We’ve had such a busy day celebrating this joyous occasion. First, Laura, Doug, Chloe & Kim took a trip to Ashbury Garden Centre. We had a Latte & Victoria sponge!
Once we got home, Laura celebrated with her family and friends, enjoying Pam & Jon coming to sing for us all! What an amazing day!
Smiles in our rooms
Linda, who’s favourite thing to do is walk, went to spread positive cheers & laughs all round, bobbing into those who tend to stay in their rooms. Linda said it’s amazing to be able to meet new people and get to know them, everyone has a different story to tell and plus. It's good exercise.
It’s so amazing to see relationships flourish between our residents. There is such an amazing sense of community and togetherness here at Lawton Manor, we are just one big family!
Nature Walks
Chloe, head of activities, along with Joan, took a lovely winter’s wildlife walk to explore all the amazing wildlife that is just on our doorstep. Joan enjoys feeding the birds daily and commented on how much it improves your mental health, getting out and about seeing all that nature has to offer.
We are so truly blessed here at Lawton manor, to have such beautiful wildlife & landscapes right outside our door!
Wellbeing Afternoon at Lawton Manor
Teri – Activities assistant led an incredible wellbeing session! She didn’t just host a chat, she created a full self-care day! Our residents enjoyed some much deserved pampering, giving them the chance to relax, unwind, and open up about their emotions and how they’re feeling, all in a calm and supportive environment.
At Lawton Manor, we care deeply about everyone’s health, mentally, physically, and emotionally. This commitment extends not only to our residents but also to our amazing staff.
Our dedicated Wellbeing Champion, Kimberley, is always here to lend an ear. Whether you’re a resident, staff member, or visitor, her door is always open, and her heart is always ready to listen. Let’s keep prioritising wellbeing together!
Reptile Fun at Lawton Manor
This afternoon, we had the fantastic M.A.D Reptiles come to visit us, bringing with them an incredible assortment of snakes and even a bearded dragon.
Residents and staff had an amazing time getting up close to these amazing creatures. We even had the chance to hold them, experiencing all the different textures and sensations!
We loved every minute of this and can not wait to have MAD reptiles back again. Thank you so much for such a unique and memorable experience!
A Heartfelt Connection across the Generations
Teri, one of our wonderful activities team members, has been working with the local school, Reginal Mitchell Primary School, and together have come up with the amazing and thoughtful idea of writing Christmas letters for each of our residents!
With the help of our special little elves and activities team, we individually produced hand-written letters which we handed out.
It brought pure joy and heart-warming smiles to each and every resident. Huge thank you to everyone involved for making it such a special experience!
Christmas Gifts
Christmas magic has arrived at Lawton Manor!
We had Santa himself delivering gifts to all of our wonderful residents. Being able to see the joy and smiles light up the whole room was something magical.
Giving is what we love most and moments like this make us very grateful for all we have. Santa made his journey, room to room, spreading Christmas cheer to all!
We carried on our celebrations with festive drinks, followed by a quiz with our loved ones!
