Activities at Lawton Manor Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Chloe Cameron
This is Chloe and she is our Activities Coordinator here at Lawton Manor. Her job is to physically and mentally stimulate our residents by offering a range of activities for them to enjoy. She wants to get everyone involved and make our home community and atmosphere as positive and welcoming as possible.
Making sure that our residents have things to do that they really enjoy doing is something that Chloe holds very close to her heart. It is so important to make sure that they are happy and enjoy all of the activities and events that we host for them. A lot of our residents also enjoy our special trips out on our Minibus as we create new, special memories together.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Lawton Manor Care Home
Medical Detection Dogs
Across our services, our residents had a fantastic time during a special live virtual event, led by Emilia from Medical Detection Dogs. Emilia took us on a journey to discover how the organisation began training dogs to support people with complex health conditions, saving their lives on a daily basis.
Using their amazing sense of smell, these dogs can identify odour changes emitted prior an episode and alert the person to take preventative action. We were introduced to the wonderful dogs and the science behind the sniff. It was a delightful experience for everyone, especially our canine-loving residents.
Landmark celebrations
Celebrations have been in full swing at Lawton Manor Care Home, as one of its residents reaches his 101st birthday in style.
George Court was joined by staff, relatives, friends and other residents as he enjoyed a beautiful afternoon tea celebration in recognition of his landmark birthday on New Year’s Day. A champagne reception was held at the home and guests enjoyed a special birthday cake made by the home’s chef Nick.
Meet the Reindeers!
What a magical day we all had! Santa’s Reindeers, also known as Misty and Willow, and his elves came by to pay us a special visit before Christmas Eve.
Staff, residents and visitors had such a wonderful time being able to touch, feed and have photos with the very friendly reindeers. It was a true highlight of the season for many of our residents who had never seen a real reindeer up close.
Our wonderful Head Chef Nick provided guests and residents with home made mulled wine and freshly baked mince pies. What an amazing day!
A huge thank you to The Animal Company, Stoke-on-Trent for putting the magic into our Christmas.
Performance from the Ukulele Band
We had the pleasure of listening to the Ukulele Community Band perform for us at Lawton Manor!
We all loved singing along & shaking our bells to some brilliant festive music throughout the evening. Some of our residents said their favourite thing to do was join in, as they felt as though they were actually part of the band!
Thanks to all at Ukulele Community Band for helping spread some Christmas cheer with our residents, and we can't wait to welcome you back!
Christmas Cards from Local School
Today our residents received handmade Christmas cards from the lovely children at Woodcocks' Well CE VA Primary School in Mow Cop. All the residents were beaming with smiles such a wonderful sight this special time of year.
The residents would like to thank all the children for their hard work and creativity on all the lovely cards! We're looking forward to welcoming you in for a festive visit to Lawton Manor very soon.
Santa Visits Lawton Manor!
Yesterday our Residents received a surprise visit from Santa & his Tractor. He dropped in at the end of his visit around the community on his sleigh, and as you can see by all of the smiling faces, everybody absolutely loved it.
Santa has now gone to write his good and naughty list and will pay us a visit again very soon!
Many thanks to Alsager Round Table for coming.
