Activities at Leeming Bar Grange Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Kimberley Calvert
Hi my name is Kimberley, Senior Activities Coordinator, and here at Leeming Bar our life enrichment programme is varied, providing choice for our residents and incorporating their interests and hobbies. We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within Leeming Bar, and we work together to give residents the best possible experience.
We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centred program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents, and their families and friends.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Residents celebrate World Opera Day
To mark World Opera Day, Residents at Leeming Bar Grange were treated to a beautiful performance from Malcolm Watson.
Residents sat back and relaxed with a glass of bucks fizz as Malcolm serenaded us with his superb renditions of classics such as Ave Maria, and Nessun Dorma.
A huge thank you to Malcolm for such a wonderful afternoon.
Virtual Halloween Cooking Demo
Residents had a lovely time joining Chef Alex Connell from Vegetarian for Life for a Halloween-inspired virtual cooking demo.
Alex demonstrated how to prepare a few themed dishes, such as root vegetable tagine, roasted butternut squash mac-n-cheese, chocolate pots with piped biscuits and flapjacks.
Our residents were delighted to be a part of this lovely virtual culinary session by tasting the vegetarian dishes from the comfort of our home.
Leeming Bar Grange celebrates Wear It Pink Day!
As past of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Leeming Bar Grange celebrated Wear it Pink Day on the 22nd October. The day is arranged by the charity Breast Cancer Now who provide support to those affected by breast cancer throughout their journey.
In order to raise funds for this fabulous charity we put on our best pink gladrags for a day of pink themed fun.
We begun the day with a pink themed quiz, and in the afternoon we enjoyed a pink party with delicious homemade cupcakes and pink fizz! To make the day even more special residents created their own beautiful pink heart table centerpiece for all to enjoy.
Tuesday Togetherness
This week Residents and Activities enjoyed another wonderful trip out to Bedale Benefice of Churches' coffee morning.
Residents relaxed with warming cuppas, home-baked treats and good conversation. One of our lovely ladies even commented the cake was as good as her mother used to make! Now that's high praise!
Thank you to everyone at Chantry Hall for another lovely morning.
Life is Sweet at Leeming Bar Grange
Our wonderful residents have such rich & varied life experiences, with a vast array of interests & skills.

A fabulous afternoon was had enjoying these delicious little cakes over a cuppa and dominoes!
Spooktacular Crafting
