"The staff at Leeming Bar Grange are very warm and caring. My nana settled in far quicker than I ever expected. It's lovely to hear how much happier she is now since being in the home. She is always telling me about the amazing cakes! A huge thank you to the whole team!"

"Our mother has been a resident here for over a year now and absolutely loves living here! She originally came for respite care but didn't want to leave when the time came for her to do so. All the staff here are amazing, so caring and nothing is too much trouble for them. In Mum's own words:- I couldn't have found anywhere better!"

"My mum arrived at Leeming Bar Grange after a short stay in hospital. She was extremely nervous, had no confidence walking, scared of falling. Within a couple of days, she was walking with her frame with one carer and joining in activities. Her smile and her confidence returned. Staff are very patient and understanding when given person-centred care, which helps Mum's anxiousness. Mum has gained weight every week as encouraged to sit in the lounge with fellow residents and enjoy her meals again. Again, staff very understanding."

"Mum came to Leeming Bar Grange for respite after a fall and made the decision to stay permanently. The staff have all been really helpful to my mum and the family. Mum loves the food and has begun to join in with the many activities and the care provided is excellent. It's very reassuring to have this care for a loved one."

"My mum-in-law was admitted to Leaming Bar after a hospital stay. We didn't have many options as to where he would go due to Covid, however, she was made so welcome, cared for and she was happy from day one. To see her cared for and looked after was a huge relief for the family. The staff have been more than helpful to mum-in-law, but also the family, reassuring us as tall times nothing is a trouble."

"My husband was in Leeming Bar Grange over Christmas 2020, in isolation. Being unable to visit I only have a vague idea of his care, but it seems to have been very good. Staff are very friendly, professional, helpful and kind."

"My mother has been in Leeming Bar Grange Care Home for several years now. I feel the standards of service have remained high throughout, but recently mother has had falls and hospitalisation due to her strokes. During these periods the care given by everyone at the care home has been truly amazing. Thank you all."

"My mum has lived at Leeming Bar Grange since 2019. We chose this home mainly for the activities, as my mum needed stimulation most days. When we looked around the home, we immediately knew it was the right place for Mum, it was so clean and friendly. The activity staff are brilliant. Having the minibus has been fabulous as Mum really loves a ride out. We have not been disappointed. All the staff have been excellent with her, making her feel special. The manager has been brilliant, she says every time we talk to her or her staff, that this is Mum's home and that means a great deal to us."

"I go to see my brother on most days. I went on Saturday 2nd February. He was frozen in his bedroom. They said they would get someone. They said they would be there within four hours. I went again the next day and he was frozen again. They said they would get someone within four hours. I don't think that is right. There should have been a heater or something. On the 3rd February, they moved him out of his bedroom and put a new bathroom in. They moved him back into his bedroom before completed. Everything was alright until Barchester moved in. I do hope it is going to improve."

"My mum went into the home for respite care while we installed a more user-friendly bathroom in her apartment and while she was a little apprehensive for a couple of days she soon settled, joining in the craft activities, singing when the choir came in and dancing. Mum is 91 and was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at the beginning of the year. When she came home she said she would go back again. She was well looked after, the food was good and everyone was friendly and kind to her and she made a friend who we will be going back to visit."

"Been visiting for over two years. I have always found all staff to be pleasant, helpful and welcoming, especially the reception staff who remember names which adds a personal touch. Management was always helpful to resolve any issues no matter how small. Resident I have been visiting has sadly died, but her end of life care package was so dignified and human. A credit to those involved in her care, making a difficult situation easier to cope with."

"The staff all appear well trained in dealing with dementia and don't give up when my husband is uncooperative. The interior is a little tired, but I can overlook that if the care is good. I admire the staff for giving the appearance of calm, even on a difficult day! The food is excellent and more is always a choice. Drinks (as in juice) need more monitoring. Despite these observations, I am happy my husband is here."

"My mother has been a resident at Leeming Bar Grange Care Home for 20 months and settled in very quickly. She has told me that she is very happy living at the care home. She enjoys participating in the activities at the home and particularly enjoys visits from Jack the dog and the miniature ponies. My sister and I are generally happy with the care my mother receives at the care home."

"Caring staff and modern facilities. My mother-in-law has advanced dementia, but the staff still try to engage her in activities and encourage her to sit in the lounge with the other residents. The staff are adaptable to her needs and ensure that we are informed of any developments."

"Teddy bears' picnic. A delightful afternoon for residents and families having a lovely picnic in the sunshine to celebrate dementia awareness week. Sandwiches, cakes, bucks fizz and a great atmosphere. What more could peoole ask for? Staff, residents and families mixing and enjoying themselves. My mum loved it. Just one of the many things this fantastic care home offers it's residents."

"My sister has been a resident for about eighteen months. When she arrived, she'd had a number of health problems, largely from Covid complications. When she arrived, she was made to feel welcome. Barchester Leeming Bar Grange Care Home was her home and that people were there to help her enjoy it. When she arrived, she had severe mobility difficulties. She couldn't get out of her chair without a great deal of help. She now can stand without assistance and walks with her 'walker' (and sometimes without). She is happy and engaged in activities. She knows she is well cared for and that Leeming Bar Grange cares about her as a person. I live almost 300 miles away and so don't see her as often as I might like. Leeming Bar Grange have been fantastic in keeping me involved through telephone calls and emails. All staff are approachable and welcoming and make time to discuss concerns or developments. Having been at Leeming Bar Grange yesterday I was again struck by how brilliant they are and how they are committed to making my sister's life as good as it can be. Thank you."

"My mum came to Barchester Leeming Bar Grange Care Home as an emergency short stay resident. The assessment by the manager was person centred and holistic and kept my mum at the heart of the care planning process. The staff since mum came to stay have been amazing. The staff from all areas of the home are engaging and caring, and as a family we are delighted with the care and support being provided. Thank you! I am a daughter of a wonderful lady, and I now sleep easy at night because I know my wonderful mum is safe and absolutely cared for."

"My dad went into respite at Barchester Leeming Bar Grange Care Home in September. It was a difficult decision to do, however, it was helped by the care and consideration by all staff towards not only my dad but to me and my sister. I can only thank them for their kindness, help and care in what has been a very difficult time for us as a family."

"Our brother moved into Barchester Leeming Bar Grange Care Home on August 8th 2024, so our experience of the home is not extensive. We have been visiting the care home for about a week previous to our brother moving in and have, at all times, been treated with kindness and respect. We have been impressed with the homely feel of the place and the friendliness and caring nature of the staff. On day two of our brother's residence, there was a summer fete in the garden and again, we were impressed with the organisation and thought that had obviously been in place to enable the event to run seamlessly and everyone enjoyed the afternoon. Our brother has settled really well."

"My mum has been with Barchester Leeming Bar Grange Care Home for over two years. Since day one, she has been showered with care, concern and support. The care has been excellent. She seems to be very happy here and at ease. The staff go out of their way to help her and make sure she is safe and listened to. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Leeming to anyone."

"I recently visited the home for their summer fair and what a wonderful occasion it was! It was very clear that a lot of hard work had gone into the day and that staff very much care about giving residents full and happy lives. This has been clear to see each time I visit the home. Something else that stands out is how welcome I am always made to feel, nothing is ever too much trouble. And it doesn't go unnoticed!"

"I visit each week with one of my registered therapy dogs. We are also made to feel welcome and valued during our visits to the residents. The staff are kind and caring and know the residents well. They provide a range of activities for the residents to stimulate and engage them. I would highly recommend Leeming Bar Grange as a first-class care provider."

"My husband was at Barchester Leeming Bar Grange Care Home for two and a half years before he died. His last years were made very comfortable by the very caring and capable staff, several of whom he came to trust, like and respect, as I did. It was an attractive place to live with lovely gardens. The support I received during his last illness and after his death was second to none and very touching. I find it comforting eight months on to return to Leeming Bar now and then and am always welcomed warmly. The staff are like family."

"Leeming Bar Grange is a superbly presented care home in every respect. The decor and fittings are first-class and the home resembles a very good quality hotel. The fabric of the home is matched by the level of service provided to both residents and their families. There is an ambience of friendliness and attentiveness on entering the building and this is reflected in the high quality of care provided. I have no hesitation in recommending Leeming Bar Grange to anyone who is seeking a luxury, caring environment for a loved one."

"We live a long way from Yorkshire and so are unable to visit my mum very frequently, but when we do we are greeted at the home as if we were only there yesterday. Having worked in the care sector for over 50 years, I can see the love and care being given to my mum by a very professional caring staff. Mum has had a rough 12 months or more, but we can see that she is happy and being very well cared for. I especially like the social media postings as that is proof for me that she is happy and safe. I will never be able to thank you enough all for the care you give my mum, but here’s a little thank you."

"My mum was a resident at Leeming Bar Grange for three and a bit years. She passed away on Christmas Eve. I have previously commented on the wonderful care Mum received throughout her time, but wanted to comment specifically on the end-of-life care. I live in France and have always been dependent on the excellent communication of the staff. When Mum was taken ill shortly before Christmas, I was kept up to date sensitively but also realistically. I got myself to LBG as quickly as possible and was able to spend the last 2 days of Mum's life at her side. Mum was treated with the greatest respect and dignity until the end. Even though it was Christmas and everyone was extremely busy, they all had time for me - making sure I had what I needed, keeping me company, checking in emotionally. I felt totally supported and cared for by every member of staff day and night. Thank you so much to everyone for making a horrendous time bearable."

"A homely home, genuinely caring staff, from cleaners to the manager and all in between. Excellent activities and social interaction bespoke to the residents' likes and wishes. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. I feel completely rest assured that my mum is very well looked after in all aspects of her life and if there are any issues, health concerns, I am kept up to date. I recommend Barchester Leeming Bar Grange Care Home to everyone I encounter. Thank you for all you do, it is much appreciated."

"After eight and a half years, my mum reached end of life. She was very well looked after and was happy throughout. In spite of a high turnover of managers, there is a hard core who remain loyal and have offered their 'love' and 'care' for Mum. This core of staff instills expectations amongst other staff and so I believe it is an excellent home. At the end of life, my mum was treated with utmost respect and dignity and the night staff were diligent in their duties and work very hard. I cannot thank all the staff enough for their care. Thank you."

"My husband was admitted to Leeming Bar Grange Care Home earlier this month for two weeks respite care as I was struggling with my health and finding it difficult to cope. My husband was greeted by name by all the staff on arrival and immediately felt at ease. The facilities and rooms at the home are of a very high standard and the food menus varied and nutritious. My husband soon settled which was a comfort to me as we had never been apart for over fifty years. All the staff are extremely caring and helpful and the residents always seem to be very happy and mix well. I felt reassured that my husband would be very well taken care of and indeed he was and friends and relatives who visited him in my absence all said they had been made very welcome and served tea and refreshments during their visit. I would not hesitate for my husband to spend more time at this home if it should become necessary in the future."

"What an amazing place! My mum has been there for nearly four years now, and we have been so lucky to have such a wonderful team of fantastic people caring for her. As soon as you walk through the doors, the atmosphere is so happy and friendly, all the staff are truly amazing and go above and beyond to make sure that Mum is loved, happy and always smiling! The activities team provide the most amazing activities every day, which she loves; they understand her dementia and know how she is feeling, which is so important to us. The kitchen staff provide delicious food and make amazing birthday cakes, which always make the residents smile! I can't thank everyone enough, from the carers, who kindly look after Mum and let me know regularly how she is doing, to the maintenance man who cheers everyone up every day and drives the minibus for wonderful days out, the receptionists who Mum loves to have a natter with and the amazing manager who looks after everyone, making this a very special place!"

"Visiting my husband with dementia I have been very impressed with the running and accommodation in general. We could not have picked a better home. The staff have been so helpful and cheerful and nothing is too much for them. My husband has been very well cared for and his room is always clean and tidy. In fact I was so happy with the care home that I would have liked for him to stay but he wanted to be back home. I am hoping to arrange more respite in the future. Thanking you."

"He has now been residing in the home for 2 months and unfortunately seems to have become less mobile than he was, due to his illness. He has been cared for by the staff at Leeming Bar Grange in a very caring and professional way. They have afforded him his dignity at all times. When we visit, he always looks clean and cared for. We have always found the staff to be very friendly, open and honest with us regarding his welfare. The home is always kept clean and smells fresh. The bedrooms are well equipped. The activities calendar offers a wide variety of entertainment. The home is always nice and warm and has a homely atmosphere about. During his stay we, the family, have had a peace of mind, knowing he is with people who are well equipped to care for his needs. He is in his 93rd year and has become very frail and confused now. We would be very happy for him to become a permanent resident here, as we believe Leeming Bar Grange is a high achiever in the care of the elderly."

"When my sister and I first viewed it we found the staff were very welcoming and friendly. We were shown around and we're both impressed we didn't go and view any other care home. We both felt it was a perfect place for mam. They have given her one of the raised flower beds to do as she pleases."

"My husband has been in Leeming Bar Grange Care Home for just over two years, and during that time he has been cared for extremely well. The carers are considerate and kind to him and treat him with respect. The home itself is clean and fresh, and the residents too, are kept clean and tidy, with clothes being regularly changed and laundered. Articles do occasionally go missing, socks being the main culprit. The food, generally is good and well cooked, although sometimes lacking in variety. I would certainly recommend Leeming Bar Grange to anyone who is considering putting a relative into care."
