Activities at Longueville Court Care Home
Our activities coordinators are committed to organising a variety of activities that reflect the interests and capabilities for everybody we support ensuring a person centred approach.
The team have a flexible approach to our programme and we are constantly reviewing and updating our programmes to ensure we cater for everyone's needs and varied abilities.
The activities programme includes regular trips utilising the homes minibus, these include a number of destinations of local interest. We are particularly proud of the relationship we have built with Peterborough Sailability. This registered charity offers the opportunities to those with restricted mobility to enjoy the thrill of sailing on the open water and the sense of independence that brings in specially adapted boats.
Involvement in the local community is something that the whole team are very passionate about and we provide regular visits to a number of different facilities including local schools and churches. These activities also extend too visits from "Pat dogs" and local entertainers to aid in our ongoing quest to give each individual as much support and stimulation as they require.

Life at Longueville Court Care Home
Happy 103rd Birthday 'Hetty'!
Today at Longueville Court we had the greatest of pleasures to celebrate our lovely resident Hetty's 103rd birthday. Hetty was spoilt with lots of presents, cards, flowers and treated like a Queen, she even ended up with two birthday cakes just like Her Majesty!
Knitting Blankets for Cats
Our ladies from all communities are making up blankets to help with the local rescue and cat homes in the area. We thought we’d like to give something back into the community. As you can see we’ve made quite a few woolly blankets.
This will be a continuous project over the next few weeks and hopefully we can deliver to the RSPCA Peterborough and District Branch Cat’s home in a months time.
Dobbies Aquarium and Garden Centre
Dobbies Garden Centre (Peterborough) and Maidenhead Aquatics. Our residents love this place there’s so much to see here. We could literally spend the day here smelling the flowers and taking in the beautiful coloured flowers. Afterwards we went for a cappuccino and a latte in their very busy restaurant. Well you can’t do a garden centre without having a cuppa!
Sailability – Tugger Boat
A very comfy afternoon on the Tugger this afternoon which included bean bags to lie on. Which means we all had a trip on the lake together taking in the scenery. A formative trip with our skipper Steve who told us about the lake and the surrounding areas. We finished off with some refreshments in the cafe.
Entertainers
A bumper month of Singer Entertainers. We had the superb & informative Sean aka The Banjo man playing 3 of his banjos to us. The talented Steve who sang to us with tunes we all know & lots of toe tapping. Plus Karl who serenade the ladies and made them feel that they were the only ones in the room. Thank you to all our performers our residents love nothing more than a good sing song
IWM Day at Duxford
It was a very special day for Bill one of our residents in Memory Lane as he helped develop Concorde in his earlier years. It was so kind of IWM to donate us with 4 VIP tickets which meant we could take Norman who is another resident of ours who loves war planes. Listening to Bill talk to the engineering staff about how he worked on the nose of Concorde was really fascinating. The staff even gave our residents a VIP tour of the inside of the plane and free refreshments.
