Activities at Longueville Court Care Home
Our activities coordinators are committed to organising a variety of activities that reflect the interests and capabilities for everybody we support ensuring a person centred approach.
The team have a flexible approach to our programme and we are constantly reviewing and updating our programmes to ensure we cater for everyone's needs and varied abilities.
The activities programme includes regular trips utilising the homes minibus, these include a number of destinations of local interest. We are particularly proud of the relationship we have built with Peterborough Sailability. This registered charity offers the opportunities to those with restricted mobility to enjoy the thrill of sailing on the open water and the sense of independence that brings in specially adapted boats.
Involvement in the local community is something that the whole team are very passionate about and we provide regular visits to a number of different facilities including local schools and churches. These activities also extend too visits from "Pat dogs" and local entertainers to aid in our ongoing quest to give each individual as much support and stimulation as they require.

Celebrating life at Longueville Court Care Home
A Delightful Mother’s Day Cream Tea
Mother’s Day was celebrated in style with a beautiful cream tea afternoon here at the home. Families were warmly welcomed to join their loved ones for a relaxing and elegant treat. Tables were set with fresh scones, jam, cream, and plenty of tea, creating the perfect setting for cherished moments together.
Laughter, stories, and smiles filled the room as residents enjoyed quality time with their families. It was a lovely way to honour mothers and create special memories that will be treasured by all.
Scottish country dancing
We had the pleasure of having the Peterborough Scottish country dance society come and visit our home and put on a demonstration for our residents and their families.
Residents enjoyed watching as they performed their dances and spoke about the history of the dances.
Magic Merlin
Our memory lane residents where wowed by magic merlin and his magic show, and they even took part in learning some circus skills, it really was a magical afternoon.
ELvis is in the building
The methods and mediums may change but the heart of live music - the communal joy, the shared emotions, the collective energy - remains untouched. As we look to the future, one thing is clear: live music will continue to be a cherished experience at Longueville Court, even as its form and format evolve.
We Celebrated the birth of Elvis with a tribute act. The Residents clapped and had a good old sing along to all of his classics.
Away in a Manger
National celebrations and family-friendly events are just some of the ways that we ensure the residents at Longuville Court remain connected with their loved ones and the wider community.
Our Residents put on a Christmas show today for family and friends and Santa may have even been one of the Residents. The Residents Choir recited Christmas favourites and all had some comfort and joy.
Creating Music Together with Britten Sinfonia
Over four wonderful weeks, our home was filled with the joy of music thanks to a special workshop led by talented musicians from Britten Sinfonia. Each Thursday, residents explored rhythm, melody, and creativity, working together to create their very own song. The sessions brought out incredible enthusiasm and confidence, with everyone contributing something unique.
The experience built towards a proud moment as residents prepared to perform their song at the Peterborough Celebrates Festival – a true celebration of creativity, connection, and the power of music.
Chinese New Year and Pancake Day
This year we celebrated a little different, with it being Chinese new year and pancake day, we infused the two! Residents enjoyed sweet pancakes with duck, vegetables and Hostin duck sauce, it was a huge success with residents and their families. With some even having a second helping.
Burn's Night Poetry
Our wonderful resident Edie took the spotlight on Burns night by reciting the Address to the Haggis poem. She also sang some traditional Scottish songs, our wonderful chefs prepared Haggis neeps and tatties which went down a treat with all our residents.

Christmas show
Our residents performed their Christmas show, which was put together by our very talented activities' coordinator, Vicki Harris. Our Longueville court choir sounded wonderful and David did a great job as Santa.
We also had the pleasure of having Thea, who gave us a wonderful performance as the Sugar Plum Fairy, and her part as Mary alongside Marley, who played Joseph in the nativity scene.
Easter visit
Easter came a little early this year as we were delighted to welcome members of the Widows Sons – Cobblestone Chapter to our home. Their thoughtful visit brought smiles all around as they generously donated Easter eggs for our hardworking staff.
The afternoon was filled with laughter and conversation as residents, staff, and visitors came together over tea and delicious cakes. It was a truly heart-warming occasion that captured the spirit of kindness and community, leaving everyone feeling appreciated and uplifted.
Valentine's Day photo shoot
Our home was filled with laughter, smiles, and heartfelt moments as we celebrated Valentine's Day with a special professional photo shoot with Noah Bliss, who helped capture the joy and love that makes our home so special.
Residents enjoyed dressing up and posing in front of our valentine's backdrop for their photos. From smiles to bursts of laughter, every photograph beautifully reflected our residents.
Elvis's Birthday Celebration
We had the pleasure of being entertained by the very talented Pete Elvis. Our residents and their families had a great time singing along while celebrating the King of Rock n roll's birthday.
