Activities at Longueville Court Care Home
Our activities coordinators are committed to organising a variety of activities that reflect the interests and capabilities for everybody we support ensuring a person centred approach.
The team have a flexible approach to our programme and we are constantly reviewing and updating our programmes to ensure we cater for everyone's needs and varied abilities.
The activities programme includes regular trips utilising the homes minibus, these include a number of destinations of local interest. We are particularly proud of the relationship we have built with Peterborough Sailability. This registered charity offers the opportunities to those with restricted mobility to enjoy the thrill of sailing on the open water and the sense of independence that brings in specially adapted boats.
Involvement in the local community is something that the whole team are very passionate about and we provide regular visits to a number of different facilities including local schools and churches. These activities also extend too visits from "Pat dogs" and local entertainers to aid in our ongoing quest to give each individual as much support and stimulation as they require.

Life at Longueville Court Care Home
Employee of the Month - March
Longueville's Employee of the Month for March is Helen Davies. Helen is the Unit Manager on Memory Lane and is loved by staff, residents and families alike. She does such a fantastic job and makes everyone feel welcome, no matter who they are. Well done, Helen - you thoroughly deserve Employee of the Month, and thank you for all your hard work.
St Patrick's Day
Residents, families and friends were thrilled to be able to enjoy a performance from the talented students of the Solas Irish School of Dancing on St Patrick's Day. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the dancing, music and the whisky and Guinness that finished off a lovely evening.
20 Years at Longueville!
We are very proud to celebrate a special Long Service Award; Alison Poutney reached the fantastic milestone of twenty years of service at the home. Alison first started her career as a Nurse at Longueville Court in 1997 and now splits her time between her role as a much-loved Activities Coordinator and Bank Nurse.
Nutrition Week
We kicked off Nutrition Week with these delicious fruit meringues made by staff and residents. They were well received with lots of second helpings. We are looking forward to the rest of the week with lots of tasty and nutritious treats to eat and drink.
Pancake Day
We had a lot of fun here at Longueville Court celebrating Pancake Day with lots and tasty toppings and fabulous flipping!
Valentine's Tea Party
A lovely afternoon was enjoyed by all when we opened our doors and invited the national charity, Contact the Elderly, to a special Valentine's-themed tea party.
Both Peterborough based groups attended the tea party, which was made up of 24 over 75s, and they had the chance to chat to the home's staff and residents whilst enjoying their afternoon tea.
We very much enjoyed hosting this month's tea party for Contact the Elderly and were very pleased that we could offer both Peterborough groups the chance to come and share a Valentine's afternoon tea with us here at the home. It's a nice way to reach out to isolated or lonely members of our community, and especially older people who we know from experience can often find themselves feeling alone all too often. We really hope that by inviting the charity to our home, it helps them meet new friends and enjoy good conversation. It is something we will definitely be doing on a regular basis.
