Activites at Mallard Court Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. We provide a wide range of group activities and individual one to one activities to meet our residents needs including musical entertainers, PAT dog visits, minibus outings, themed events and much more!
We take a person centred approach when planning each individuals activities so they can achieve a feeling of self worth and well-being.
We hold monthly meetings with the residents and also regular meetings with their family and friends, discussing any ideas that they may have, and also any problems that their may have. Both of our activities coordinators, Steve and Lynne, have completed NAPA Activity Workers Level 2 Award training, and are continually seeking new ideas so we can ensure life in the home is as varied and interesting as possible. We encourage strong community links with the local schools, colleges and local charities in the community. Steve is supported also by his dogs, Tia, Pebbles and Oscar who give great pleasure to the residents in our home, and can often be seen either on a persons lap or being taken for a walk around the home. Many of the visitors that come into Mallard Court commented that it is so friendly and welcoming.

Steve Moss
Lifestyle Coordinator
Hi, my name is Steve, and I have been a Lifestyle Coordinator at Mallard Court since 2006, and have achieved the NAPA (National Association of Activity Providers) Level 2 Award in Activity Provision in the Care Sector.
We provide a wide range of activities for the people we support, as well as for their families and friends. I also love to have one-to-one chats with residents who like to reminisce about their lives over a cup of tea and some biscuits.
We have our own minibus and have fun days out sight-seeing, having a picnic or going a local pub for a drink and a meal. We also arrange for local artists to provide musical entertainment for everyone at Mallard Court.
Celebrating life at Mallard Court Care Home

Musical Fun
It was a pleasure to welcome back our esteemed friend Geoff for an exceptional afternoon of musical entertainment. Geoff, being one of our cherished regular entertainers, brings as much joy to us with his performances as he derives from sharing his profound passion for music.
Our residents were thoroughly delighted by Geoff's cabaret-style entertainment. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Geoff and look forward to the opportunity of welcoming him back in the near future.
Welcoming the Deputy Mayor
We were delighted to welcome Councillor Ray Pollard, the Deputy Mayor of Bridlington, to Mallard Court today as he joined us for a delightful afternoon tea.
The Deputy Mayor enjoyed meeting and getting to know our residents, relatives and colleagues.
We look forward to welcoming Ray back to our home in the future and we're very grateful for his time.
A very special thank you goes to Gill for creating a wonderful selection of strawberry tarts and cupcakes for our guests to enjoy.

RNLI Fundraiser
The home raised £103 for RNLI. Residents, staff and the local community at the home in Bridlington came together to raise money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) following a successful Spring Fair held at the home in April.
The event brought local community for a day of fun, games, and fundraising. Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of everyone involved, the home raised a fantastic £103 for the RNLI.
To mark the occasion, residents and staff visited the local RNLI shop to present a cheque to the RNLI team, celebrating the community spirit and support for this vital charity.

VE-Day 80 Celebrations
Our residents celebrations were in full swing, enjoying a wonderful VE Day party. They delighted in listening to the lovely sounds of wartime songs. As they reminisced about stories from their childhoods.
The residents enjoyed dancing the day away, and one resident mentioned she did not want the party to end. A big thank you to our home team for making this momentous anniversary so special for our home and those who live there.

104th Birthday Celebrations
We had the pleasure of celebrating Violet's 104th birthday alongside her family, friends, and staff.
Violet received an array of wonderful gifts, stunning flowers, and heartfelt birthday cards. She proudly displayed a particularly special card to everyone. Violet expressed her gratitude, stating she had a marvelous day and wished to thank everyone for contributing to such a memorable and joyous occasion.

Thirty Year Long Service Award
Wendy has received a prestigious 30 Year Long Service Award in celebration of working at Barchester Healthcare for three decades.
Wendy Farrer, who proudly works as a housekeeper in the home, started at Barchester in April 1995, starting in the laundry and working as a care assistant and has worked with residents and their relatives to ensure that their needs have been met over the years.
Adele Keenan, Employee Services Director at Barchester said: “I’m always pleased to hear stories about the long service of Barchester staff and am delighted Wendy has achieved this milestone. It is dedication like this that ensures our residents are provided with a happy place to live.”

All aboard the minibus for ice cream delights
It was all aboard the minibus this afternoon as we headed out to see the sights and sounds of beautiful Bridlington.
Our resident of the day, Violet and her friends embarked on an outing, exploring the scenic beauty of Bridlington. They paused at the harbour top to indulge in delightful strawberry ice cream tubs.

World Art Day
World Art Day was celebrated with enthusiasm here at the home, as we engaged in an enjoyable session of creativity by drawing and painting portraits of one another.
Everyone had a great time, filled with fun as we discussed our self portraits with light hearted humour.
World Parkinson's Day
Staff and residents at the home marked World Parkinson's Day, which takes place on the 11th April.
For this, the home welcomed the local Parkinson's UK branch for a special edition of the home's regular support café.
The group and residents spoke about how Parkinson’s has affected their lives and how they support one another. Homemade cakes and refreshments were on offer, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
