Activities at Marriott House and Lodge Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Marriott House and Lodge Care Home

This beautiful picture just says it all

Moments like this make the team at Marriott House and Lodge so proud.

Making this moment happen felt like the most natural thing to do back in March within the circumstances we were in.

They say a picture says a thousand words and we are sure you will agree. We know that this is a very special memory for the family, and we know how precious this image is. This image was entered as part of the #holdstill2020 project.

As part of the #holdstill project, Members of the public were invited to send pictures taken during the recent national lock down for an online photography exhibition entitled Hold Still.

The community project led by the Duchess of Cambridge - patron of the National Portrait Gallery - received more than 31,000 entries.

This photo is one of the final 100 images which were selected by a panel of judges, including the duchess, Nicholas Cullinan, director of the National Portrait Gallery, writer and poet Lemn Sissay, Ruth May, chief nursing officer for England, and photographer Maryam Wahid. This photo was also editor’s choice in the Times newspaper this week.

The image and story can be found here https://www.npg.org.uk/hold-still/images/last-precious-moments/?fbclid=IwAR17j-1epTwhw6w-JjxazOT43SkNhP99I16V4nDWc8MK5vTE6y0Ci0NPIIM
