Activities at Melbourn Springs Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is a major focus of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat will always be welcomed.

We love the Hub!

We love the Hub!

Hot chocolate, Tea and doughnuts just what we needed to get through this cold weather spell!

We took advantage of the library and read lots of stories with the children and each-other.

Games afternoon

Getting competitive with Bowls & card games in reception café this weekend.

Everyone had a go, got right into the spirit of it and had a laugh!

Things got tense in a game of 'higher or lower', but we all pulled together & took the right chances. After a few successful rounds we celebrated with Tea & biscuits.

Entertainment with Frank

Yesterday we had some brilliant entertainment from Frank, his keyboard, trumpet and wonderful singing voice.

We danced and sang along to some firm favourites, Frank told us stories from his childhood which linked to the songs he played.

He took requests from the residents & the care team took a fancy to a boogie too!

Thank you so much Frank for a wonderful afternoon!!

Doreen's Trip to Waresley Garden Centre

Doreen's request to go out to Waresley garden centre was fulfilled this week, the trip was longer than we expected travelling through three counties to get there, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire so we saw lots of sights, played games and had a good chat on the Journey.

We thoroughly enjoyed a well needed tea & coffee in the cafe, and browsed the beautiful flowers & plants, particularly enjoying the roses on display.

We spent most of the afternoon here perfectly content in the quaint village of Waresley.

Around the world in costume!

Huge thank you to 'The Entertainment Providers' for a stunning show last night! They took us around the world in costumes, dances and the most wonderful songs.

The residents were truly charmed, and the care team got stuck in too!

We absolutely love our entertainment evenings at Melbourn Springs, and we hope to have The Entertainment Providers back again soon!

Great Chishill Coffee morning

Last week we went up to the Great Chishill church coffee morning in aid of St Swithins.

We enjoyed some delicious chocolate & Toffee Apple cake and were made to feel very welcome.

The residents enjoyed looking round the interesting architecture and designs of the church and we look forward to more coffee mornings in the community!
