Activities at Melbourn Springs Care Home

Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is a major focus of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat will always be welcomed.

Bernie Keyte 1964 Variety Show

This has been a long time coming but we were finally able to welcome Bernie Keyte to Melbourn Springs with his 1964 variety show.

Bernie’s show really was something else and included; quizzes, singalongs, name that tune, custom made badges, Trophies and cards for audience participation!

Vera, Brian and Jeanette won Trophies and Joy and Audrey even received CD’s from Bernie’s Radio Show!

“Well that was a super afternoon!” said Rosina – “I’ve never seen anyone as energetic as Bernie and we all thoroughly enjoyed his show!”

Author - Mike Gayle Presentation

Our residents at Melbourn Springs had the chance to virtually meet author, Mike Gayle this week.

It was a fantastic afternoon and we were even treated to some excerpts from Mike’s most recent book - ‘All the Lonely People'

Our resident Jeanette added, “What it takes to be an author! He certainly was very interesting to listen to!”

Virtual Cruise and Cooking demonstration

It was cheers all round as our residents enjoyed some delicious food and drink from our Life Enrichment Virtual Cruise and Cooking Demonstration.

Needless to say the Bitterballen went down a treat - expertly prepared by our Head Chef Trevor. But it appeared Doreen’s favourite was the Watermelon Mojito!

Sean - the Banjo Man performs for us

Our residents at Melbourn Springs were delighted to welcome Sean The Banjo Man for a great singalong of some favourite classics and modern tunes too! Needless to say everyone was singing, “My old man said follow the Van…” for the rest of the afternoon and we all look forward to welcoming Sean again soon!
