Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jo Henderson
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Moors Manor Care Home

Knit and Knatter
We started our new group in the home and this one was more for the ladies here, knit and knatter! Knit and knatter has brought back memories for all the residents of their mums, dads and grandparents that used to knit whole outfits for them and clothes for dollies.
We had a lovely afternoon and staff also got involved with knitting and some learning how to knit as well from our residents.

Minibus outing to Wimborne Minster
Residents Marianne, Jenny and Rita had a lovely minibus outing to Wimborne Minster with Jo and Mia from our Activities team here in the home. Whilst walking around the church we had a local volunteer give us history on the building which everyone found very informative.
Afterwards we then went to a coffee shop for what we do best enjoy a cup of tea and cake.

Cake Sale.
Well what a fantastic afternoon we have had here in the home for our cake sale. We raised £192.50 which will go towards Barchester Healthcare Charitable Foundation. Staff, residents and family members all got involved to make the delicious cakes which were then enjoyed by everyone who came along for the afternoon. We raffled the larger cakes that were made and the winners were all very happy to be taking them home.
Thank you to everyone who came this afternoon and we hope you all enjoy your cakes you have taken home with you.

Barchester Bingo Bonanza
Eyes Down!! Residents took part in Barchester's Bingo Bonanza this week. All Barchester homes and hospitals got involved for an afternoon of fun playing Bingo and competing against each other. We got involved to win the first line and then full house to earn points which will be earned from each event to see who will be the ultimate champions at the end of the year.

Baking club for the Barchester Charitable Foundation fundraiser.
Residents have been busy making and decorating cakes ready for our cake sale tomorrow where we will be raising money for the Barchester Charitable Foundation.
Residents had a great sense of pride in making and decorating the cakes as they are all happy to be able to help for such a worthy cause.

Garden fun at Moors Manor
A bit of wind doesn't stop our residents from doing a bit of gardening and enjoying walks. Our gardening club had residents finishing the planting of the plants we had been growing in the greenhouse, where we hope in our raised borders they will continue to grow and flourish. We have also been planting up hanging baskets with our memory lane residents really enjoyed to do and these are now positioned at our main front entrance. Resident Penny enjoys going for walks around the garden and as you can see in the picture she rather likes this. Gardening and walks is a great way of getting some fresh air and socialising with friends.
