Activities at Moors Manor Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Nursing Community Now Open

Yesterday was a very big day for the home as we opened our new Nursing Community here at Moors Manor.

The Mayor of Ferndown Councillor Terry Cordery was on hand to do the official red ribbon cutting and say a few words to open this community. We were joined by residents and Laura and Jacquie from HK Law who all wanted to be here to mark the occasion and raise a glass.

We also welcomed our very first resident to our Nursing Community and made sure we had a photo with the wonderful hospital transport team who do a fantastic job and were also very happy to take a treat with them.

Here is to exciting times here in the home being able to offer residential, dementia and nursing care to all of our residents.

Minibus outing to Moors Valley Country Park

The weather may have been a bit cold and cloudy this week but that didn't stop us going out in the minibus and heading over to Moors Valley Country Park and Forest to have a walk around the lake where we were able to play with some of the items that were dotted around and then took at a look at the train station too.

Afterwards everyone was needing a hot chocolate and treat so we then on the way back to the home headed into Avon Heath Country Park to the café and also had a look around the visitor centre.
