Our wonderful team comprises nurses, carers, activities coordinators, chefs, housekeepers and more. These people are here to ensure that residents enjoy their time at the home and are supported to live life to the fullest. Meet some of our staff below:
Trudi Gillespie
Hello, I am Trudi, General Manager here at Mount Vale. Welcome to our website!
Thank you for taking the time to look further into what we have to offer to you or your loved one. Here is an opportunity to look at some of our staff team in the home, who all play a vital role in day-to-day life.
I started working in the care industry in 2000 and it is the best job in the world! I started my career as a Care Assistant, before being promoted to Deputy Manager at our sister home, Springvale Court and progressing to General Manager at Appletree. In 2024 joined the team at Mount Vale.
My qualifications include an NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Health & Social Care, Working with Dementia Level 3 and End of Life Care Level 3. I strive to deliver the highest possible care to meet the needs and wishes of everyone I support.

Lynne Stubbs
Hi my name is Lynne and i have been working at Mount Vale since 2010 and i am the head of our nursing community.
I began my nursing career in 1988, qualifying in 1991. I have worked in a variety of healthcare settings including hospitals across many different areas of nursing.
We provide the highest care for many different types of nursing needs and our palliative care is second to none. I work alongside a wonderful nursing team and amazing carers.
Sue Rowley
Hi there, my name is Sue and I am a nurse at Mount Vale.
I qualified as a nurse in 1979 and have worked in both hospitals and care homes since then. I initially started working at Mount Vale in 2012. I love supporting our elderly frail community. I think our palliative care is second to none and I have a wonderful team behind me.
Teresa Whiting
Hi my name is Teresa , I have been working on our memory lane community at Mount Vale since April 2024.
I am an RMN (registered mental health nurse) since 2022. One of my biggest passions is dementia since studying my nursing. I am a big believer that every resident should be cared for as if they were a part of my own family. Not only getting to know the residents and their past lives but also getting to know their families and loved ones that visit the home, making everyone feel welcome and at ease.
I have 3 children and 3 dogs and a loving husband at home. In my spare time, we like to go out walking and unwind and listening to music.
Sarah Van Der Merwe
Hi, my name is Sarah and I am the Home Administrator here at Mount Vale. I joined the homes team in June 2024, previously working as administration assistant in our sister home, Briardene. I have been working for Barchester since 2021. I deal with all aspects of the administration of the home to ensure it runs smoothly.
Providing excellent customer service is something I thrive on, going above and beyond for relatives and their families.
In my spare time I am a mam too 4 children who are amazing and going from strength to strength. I am happily married and I also love being a DJ and providing parties to all people.
Louise Chapman
Hi my name is Louise I have been working at Mount Vale since 2010. I am the activities co-ordinator, I am here to promote the wellbeing of our residents and ensure they have a variety of activities to get involved in. I love finding new creative ways to engage our residents and involve our local community.
I am a dementia champion for the home and enjoy continuing to learn and find more things I can do to help promote the wellbeing of our residents.
I love spending time with each individual getting to know them so I can add individual needs into our plans. I love building strong relationships with our residents and families.
I am a crafty person and can be found doing diamond arts and lots of other creative things when I am not at work. I love spending time with my family and going for walks with my dog Dottie and cuddling my cat Loki.
Danny Dixon
Hello my name is Danny. I joined Mount Vale as Head Chef in August 2021.
I have over 30 years experience being a Chef and am delighted to be working at Mount Vale to provide our wonderful residents with delicious and nutritious meals. I always ensure I plan a variety of options throughout the week - taking into consideration each residents likes and dislikes.
Myself and my team provide three meals a day including a choice of starters, mains and desserts, as well as ensuring we always have 'light bites' and cakes available to residents and visitors.
Paul Frost
Hi there! My name is Paul and I started as the Head of Maintenance at Mount Vale in 2014. My job is to ensure our home is safe and well-presented at all times, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
My role can vary from changing light bulbs to building patio areas. I also support our Gardener with the up keep of the grounds at Mount Vale, of which I am very proud. We have a beautiful home and I enjoy keeping it that way.
Julie Anderson
Hello, my name is Julie.
I have been working at Mount Vale since 2014 and take great pride in my work. My job is to manage our housekeeping team to ensure our residents home is well kept and always clean.
I enjoy spending time with the residents and I always make sure i make time to chat to them.
Shona Munro
Hi, my name is Shona.
I have been with Mount Vale since 2009 and being receptionist my job is to welcome all new residents, loved ones and visitors to the home with an inviting smile! As well as answer our incoming phone calls, if you have any questions about our home please give us a call. I am always happy to help.
I love my job because I meet or talk to someone new everyday!
Tracy Millichap
Hi my name is Tracy. I joined Mount Vale in 2014 and i am a hostess.
I love my job as i am able to have lovely conversations to all of our residents and relatives everyday. Previous to working at Mount Vale i was a housekeeper or BT for 18 years as well as being a creche leader at my local leisure centre.
Outside of work i enjoy walking my dog and spending time with my family. I love animals and i love to go out on adventures.
Denise Castle
Hi, my name is Denise and I am a care assistant at Mount Vale.
I love my job and really enjoy working with our residents to support them in living a fulfilled life. Previous to working at Mount Vale i was a Locality Manager for a company which provided support to adults with learning disabilities and mental health issues. Prior to this i was in the army and trained as a telecommunications operator.
My hobbies outside of work include walking my cockapoo Jasmine and reading.
Sona Sebastian
Hello, my name Sona. I am a care assistant on our nursing community.
Alongside my time at Mount Vale I am also studying at The University at Teesside for my masters in food processing and engineering. I love to meet all of our residents and seeing them smile everyday.
Outside of work and studying I love to spend time with my friends and family, watching movies and playing games.
Carol Watson
Hello, my name is Carol.
I have worked at Mount Vale since 2009. I have always worked in the housekeeping team - before my career started at Mount Vale I worked at another care home as well as a hospital. I love my job because I get to chat with each resident every day and hear all about their life stories.
Outside of work I like to go for walks and visit my local pub with my friends and colleagues to socialise.
Bill Horbury
Hello my name is Bill. I joined Mount Vale in 2024.
I am the gardener here and I love been out creating beautiful grounds for the residents, family and community to enjoy. I enjoy gardening, playing pool, wildlife and going on holidays. I am proud to say I have won awards for Stockwell Council for the 'Britain in Bloom' and a gold medal at the Cheshire Show.
In my spare time I also enjoy fundraising for charities.
Joanna
Hi, I am Joanna. I am the hairdresser at Mount Vale and have been since 2021.
I have been a hairdresser for over 30 years. I love been able to come to Mount Vale and get to know all the residents and hear their stories while doing their hair. I find it a very rewarding job.
Outside of work I love spending time with my family and walking my rescue dog Hannah.
