Activities at North Park Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Claire Liddy
Hi, my name is Claire, and I am Lead Activities Coordinator at North Park. I first started doing activities in 2007 and fell in love with the job. I came to North Park in 2019 as lead Activities Coordinator.
I like to involve the local community in events within the home, so we have connections with local churches, schools and community groups. We have a PAT dog that visits weekly, so our residents can enjoy pet therapy, and lots of external entertainers, who come into the home regularly as well; in addition to fairs, monthly coffee mornings, family and friends events and so much more.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at North Park Care Home

Donation to Food Bank
Residents, loved ones, friends and staff members at our home celebrated the Harvest Festival by donating a food hamper to a local charity.
The occasion was also marked with singing of hymns followed by light refreshments which really helped everyone at the home get into the spirit of the festival. Food donations brought in by families and staff were gifted to The Well on North Road for their community pantry which was very well-received.

Enjoying the great outdoors
As part of our life enrichment programme it is important to keep our residents connected to the local community and we often plan trips out too. From a walk in the park to a trip to the seaside – we do it all and there may be a tasty treat along the way!
When at home we also enjoy spending time in our garden catching up with each other and our families and friends.

Ice cream van visit!
Our residents enjoyed a visit from a local ice cream van and it was a perfect day for it! Residents and staff enjoyed 99's with all the toppings and reminisced about memories that came flooding back when our residents heard the vans music. A great time was had by all and we can't wait for the vans next visit!

Dementia Cafe
Our residents and families enjoy our monthly dementia cafes. We talk in depth about dementia and our residents and relatives have a space where they can discuss their experiences over tea and coffee and freshly prepared snacks and cakes. We also welcome the community into our monthly dementia cafes to offer support and advice.

Mexican Fiesta
Our residents recently enjoyed a Mexican Fiesta. In the weeks building up to the event our residents painted Mexican flags and enjoyed setting them up in our reception area to welcome guests. On the day we enjoyed freshly prepared tacos and tequila along with a lot of music, dancing and laughs.

Resident celebrates 90-years young!
Celebrations have been in full swing at North Park Care Home, as one of its residents reaches her 90th birthday in style. Jessie who has resided at North Park for 7 years was joined by staff, relatives, friends and other residents in the lounge where she enjoyed a surprise performance from ‘The travelling ukuleles’ and a home-made birthday cake.
