Activities at Orchard House Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Orchard House Care Home

Shanklin Seafront

Shanklin Seafront

On Wednesday 4th July, we took a lovely minibus trip for a gentlemen who lives at the Orchards, and his wife, who came along to join the trip as well.

We visited Shanklin Seafront first, as this was a place that the couple would always go to together, so we went to have a little walk along the seafront and then had some lunch. We then took a drive to Venter seafront, where we stopped for an ice cream and drinks and relaxed for the rest of the trip.

Carisbrooke Castle Visits

On Tuesday 3rd July, we had Carisbrooke Castle come to visit us at Orchard House to show off their museum items. This time, they brought along their summer/holiday items, which all the residents appeared to really enjoy looking at. It was a really fun day!

Creative Space

On Wednesday 20th June, we had a fun creative morning by cutting out large letters and decorating them to display in residents' rooms. Residents said they had a lovely morning doing this whilst talking to each other in the group.

The Sound of Music

On Friday 15th June, Toni-Sue came to perform a concert called 'The Sound of Music' for all residents. Everyone appeared to enjoy themselves and plenty of people were up on their toes dancing with the talent.

Cupcake Day

On Thursday 14th June, we helped celebrate the Alzheimer’s Society Cupcake Day by baking loads of cupcakes to sell in an effort to raise money for the cause. Residents and staff had fun playing games and eating lots of cupcakes on the day. We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped out.
