Activities at Orchard House Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

On Wednesday 13th June, we went out in the minibus to explore our beautiful island. We stopped at Puck Pool in Ryde, where we took a walk along the seafront. We then stopped for a picnic whilst we shared memories and stories with one another.

Volunteers' Week

Volunteers' Week

We recently celebrated Volunteers' Week and celebrated all the work that our wonderful volunteers do for our home. We recognised the occasion by decorating the home and presenting them all with certificates.

In aid of Senior Health & Fitness Day on Wednesday 30th May, Orchard House celebrated by inviting residents, friends and family to our smoothie-making/taster morning. This was followed with a 'Wake Up, Shake Up' session, which is a fun chair exercise class that is run by our Head of Lifestyle, Alex.

On Friday 25th May, we had a lovely morning doing flower arranging whilst socializing within a group. We shared stories and had a singalong together. At the end of the activity, the residents said they had a great morning and look forward to putting the flowers in their rooms.

Ventor Seafront

On Wednesday 23rd May, we took a trip out for the day and to visit Ventnor Seafront, where we found a lovely place to have our picnic and appreciate the view. When we were ready, we took another drive to Shanklin Seafront to go get an ice cream and take a walk along the beach.
