Activities at Orchard House Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Oasis

On Wednesday 11th April, with the lovely weather, we took a trip to Oasis in Brading. On the way, residents were pointing out places they recognised whilst sharing memories. When we arrived, we all enjoyed looking around the shop.

We then went to the café and all enjoyed a cuppa and slice of cake whilst sharing story’s with each other. When arriving back at the home, residents said how much they enjoyed themselves, which was lovely to hear.

Memory Games

On Wednesday 11th April, we enjoyed the morning playing a memory game with a beach ball, which is a fun way of sharing memories with each other, as well as being great physical exercise.

Baking at The Orchard

On Tuesday 10th April, we had a lovely morning making scones whilst enjoying a chat about past baking experiences. Once the scones had cooled down, we all enjoyed a scone and cuppa tea/coffee. We also shared them with the staff in the home, who said they were delicious.

Bingo!

On Thursday 5th April, we enjoyed an afternoon playing bingo. Residents always look forward to playing and having a chance to win some prizes.

Arts & Crafts

On Wednesday 4th April, whilst the men enjoyed a movie afternoon, the ladies had fun getting creative by decorating jam jars and turning them into vases.

On Friday 6th April, we had a relaxing morning making paper flowers to put in our vases. Residents were very proud of their creations and will be using them to brighten up their rooms.
