Activities at Oulton Park Care Home

What a fantastic day of carnival celebrations! Our residents got creative, making their very own colourful carnival masks before dressing up and showing off their best carnival moves! 

There were plenty of smiles, laughter and dancing as everyone got into the carnival spirit! And to make the afternoon even more fun, we had a very special visitor … a giant inflatable clown!

He certainly caused a few laughs and made the celebrations extra memorable! A wonderful day filled with creativity, music, dancing and lots of carnival cheer!   

The manager and resident ambassador led the way on an unforgettable day out as they took to the road on motorised trike, creating smiles, excitement, and treasured memories.

The special outing gave residents the opportunity to experience the freedom and exhilaration of riding through the Suffolk countryside on a specially adapted trike. For many, the event brought back fond memories of younger years, sparking conversations and reminiscences about past adventures and family experiences.

Everybody enjoyed a wonderful visit to start our Easter festivities here at Oulton Park by The 3rd Oulton brownies. 

The residents and children enjoyed an egg hunt where they explored the grounds of Oulton Park and to finish they did some Easter arts and crafts. Great fun was had by all.   

Residents and Staff at Oulton Park care centre were treated to a visit from Pakefield pastures mobile care farm. The home was visited by rabbits and guineapigs who caused a great deal of excitement. The residents enjoyed the visit, they petted and held the animals who seemed to appreciate meeting their new friends. 

Animals have a wonderful calming effect and the residents love to stroke them, talk to them and watching them run around.     

Oulton Park hosted their annual Christmas fayre in December. The home welcomed lots of wonderful stalls with their fabulous gifts on offer, from knitted clothes, engraved woodwork, raffle and delicious cakes. 

The home raised a fantastic amount for the resident’s fund, £404.42. A massive thank you to everyone who supported and joined the home for this festive afternoon.            

Good food, great company & plenty of laughs! What a wonderful afternoon we had! We had the absolute pleasure of visiting our lovely sister home, Ritson Lodge Care Home, for a fantastic joint lunch. 

From the moment we arrived, there were smiles, laughter, stories and plenty of wonderful conversation. The food was absolutely delicious, the company was fantastic, and of course, residents enjoyed a glass of wine! A huge thank you to everyone at Ritson Lodge for having us and for making us feel so welcome. It was lovely spending time together, sharing a delicious lunch and creating more special memories with our sister home.

We’re looking forward to our next adventure together!   

We celebrated VE Day at Oulton Park by decorating our very own Union Jack cake. We sang along to music from the 40s. Residents reminisced on their childhood, talking about rationing and what life was like during and after the war. It was a true honour to hear their stories. 

Staff got into the spirit of VE day, sporting outfits that were in fashion in the 40s.       

Residents and staff enjoyed a wonderful Saint Patrick's Day at Oulton Park. They enjoyed an Irish-themed lunch menu, created their very own shamrock wands and watched the live Saint Patrick's Day parade on the television. 

There were lots of laughter and giggles at the costumes staff and residents were wearing.    

At Oulton Park we support our residents to continue with their favourite hobbies, and encourage them to share and teach others about these too.

Our Residents enjoyed a fun filled colourful session of painting and enjoyed a chat and a cupp a at the same time.

Regular activities including arts and crafts are part of our lifestyle activities programme. We take regular feedback from our Residents to see which activities they enjoy the most and look to introduce new activities as we receive new Residents.

Congratulations to Andrew, who was awarded the management recognition award.  

You’ll see Andrew with a smile on his face, and he is often heard singing as he goes. Always going above and beyond. Keep up the fantastic work Andrew!       

The day was a great success, filled with smiles, laughter, delicious food, fantastic stalls, entertainment and, most importantly, wonderful memories for our residents, families, friends and local community. 

Amazing staff and volunteers, stallholders, performers, families, friends and everyone who came along to support us. Seeing our residents enjoying themselves and the home buzzing with such a lovely atmosphere made all the hard work worthwhile.  

Residents at Oulton Park were joined by Angie's, curious creatures for a chance to hold and learn about some wonderful animals. 

Residents and staff held a snake, tortoises and a bearded dragon. They also meant a cute little African Pygmy hedgehog. It was a truly wonderful afternoon and so much fun for those who attended.        

Residents enjoyed a wonderful visit by Svelta for a musical trip around the world. Through the medium of music, residents travelled to Italy, France, Spain and home again to England. 

With singing and smiling, lots of fun was had.   

Transforming the home into a magical Christmas wonderland. 

The residents were delighted to share their own traditions of Christmastime, bring this to life at Oulton Park, unravelling the fairy lights, and hanging the baubles ready for a whole host of Christmas celebrations. 

Residents were delighted to attend St Michael’s Church to watch Oulton Broad primary school's Christmas performance. 

The children’s voices rang throughout the church as they sang, and the residents joined the festive spirit, singing along to the carols. A wonderful way to spread Christmas cheer!
