Activities at Red Oaks Care Home
We believe in making a difference to the lives of people living here with us and ensure that we provide a lifestyle full of choice and stimulation that is centred around each resident here at Red Oaks. This includes a whole host of varied activities, together with regular trips out around the region, taking full advantage of the home’s minibus. Our aim is to enable each person we support to continue to do the things they enjoy for as long as they possibly can.
Sue McHoy
My role as activity coordinator at Red Oaks is ensuring that all residents have a full and varied activity program. Using our getting to know me books and knowing our residents backgrounds develop our activity program. Having lived in Henfield for the past 10 years I enjoy assisting residents maintaining and forming new the community connections.
I am passionate about my role, the part is having fun and making people smile.

Life at Red Oaks Care Home
Special Words
Staff at Red Oak's Care Home were so pleased to received these flowers and this card from a current residents daughter. Both the flowers and the card brightened up our day
Spring is in the Air
Here at Red Oaks Care Home we believe Spring is just round the corner. The summer is on its way and we will have many opportunities to get out and enjoy our fabulous historic gardens and grounds. This week some residents having been wrapping up and taking in the fresh air. How lovely.
Morning Exercise.
This week Jane our 'lead activities' encouraged some of our residents to join her for some chair exercise's. Jane and the resident's used a large exercise ball that we understand is a useful workout tool that helps to increase balance and strengthen the core muscles in your back and stomach.
Our residents and Jane said exercising can really be fun
Red Oaks Spectacular American Red Oak Tree's
Red Oaks House was built circa 1837 by William Borrer of Barrowhill, a famous botanist, who built the magnificent house for his daughter Fanny upon her marriage. The house was so named because of the American Red Oaks planted and growing in the grounds surrounding the house.
Today our four red oaks still stand proud and magnificent in our grounds. Also with in our grounds is another striking tree dating back to the 1800's - a Lucombe tree.
Obi, a regular visitor
We are always so pleased to see Obi here at Red Oaks Care Home. Obi has been coming to Red Oaks for the past 5 year's with his human Zena to visit Zena's lovely Mum, Joan.
Joan really look's forward to seeing both Zena and Obi.
Obi is particularily special as he was a rescue dog. He has a lovely calm personality and fits in beautifully here at Red Oaks.
