Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Ritson Lodge Care Home
Santa Claus Came To Town
When Santa visited last week all the residents were keen to ensure that they were on the "Good" list. Thankfully everyone has been great all year and Santa promised presents which came true for all!
Santa's visit was part of our larger Christmas celebrations which have kept the residents and staff full of festive spirit throughout the month. We are now looking forward to seeing in New Year with optimism and even more fun.
Christmas Party Time
We had a brilliant Christmas party this week. Music, wine, great food, friends, games and laughter - exactly what you need for a party.
Our kitchen team did us proud with a fantastic selection of delicious treats. Our activities team had us laughing along with all their fun.
We are counting down to the big day and we are nearly there, but we still have a whole host of great activities and events planned before then.
The Best Christmas Performance!
We had a wonderful Christmas performance from the friends and family of Ritson Lodge residents last week.
The children sang, danced and generally brought joy and laughter into the home. They were also kind enough to bring cards and gifts for our residents to open.
Probably the best Christmas performance in East Anglia this year!!
Festive Party
Over the weekend we had a festive party with everything from live music, games, dancing, sing-alongs, great food and even our favourite PAT dog came to visit.
We are fully in the festive spirit now and the calendar for December is jam-packed with fun activities right through to Christmas Day.
Cheese & Wine Evening
Resident's enjoyed a cheese and wine evening over the weekend. Our wonderful kitchen team produced delicious cheese boards, along with an impressive selection of wine.
Fantastic food, shared with friends and accompanied by a couple of glasses of wine, is one of life's joys. Our varied food menus regularly include fine dining and themed menus. Our Chef is currently hard at work planning the menus for the Christmas period.
Christmas Wreath Making
Yesterday our residents joined Blooming Haus - Floral Engineers Christmas Wreath Making Masterclass, where Master Florist, Michal showed us the best methods to create beautiful festive wreaths.
Following the tips and ideas learnt during the amazing virtual experience, we were happy to put our skills to a test and to create a festive wreath to enter the #BarchesterChristmasWreaths competition.
Our work has turned out beautifully and are an excellent addition to our home.
