Activities at Ritson Lodge Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Ritson Lodge Care Home

The Imagination Factory

The Imagination Factory

Crafts Club is a big part of Ritson Lodge; we all like to make decorations ready for the next event, when we have family, friends and the public coming in. Residents are very proud of their hard work and have the chance to chat with everyone that comes in about what they have made.

Colour the World with Love

Colour the World with Love

Residents have been making decorations for the upcoming Macmillan Coffee Morning. They've been working tirelessly to make sure every part of the home is adorned with the Macmillan colours.

National Dog Day

National Dog Day

We made the most of National Dog Day by having lots of therapy dogs come in to see us. Residents, staff and loved ones all had big smiles on their faces. Some residents fell asleep cuddling the dogs and expressed their desire to have one as a pet at Ritson Lodge.

Knit & Natter

Knit & Natter

We have been making baby hats in our Knit & Natter session; we are waiting until we have 100 so that we can take them to the baby ward at our local hospital. But, for now, we are slowly learning how to do new things like head bands and bows to wear in our hair. If we make plenty of them we will sell them to our crafts fair at Christmas.

Friday Fish & Chips

Friday Fish & Chips

We drove to Southwold for our Friday fish and chips. It was a very busy day on the sea front; there were lots of families and children that came to speak to us. We even had a dog wanting to share our food.

Some residents thought it was too busy to go for a walk, so we opened all the doors and enjoyed the sun. We had summer music playing in the background and lots of people walking around came to join in as well.

Animal Family

Animal Family

Animal Family was here again with new animals! Residents and loved ones seemed to really enjoy meeting these amazing creatures. Katie, who brings in the animals, takes the time with every person to ensure they get to learn about them all.
