Activities at Ritson Lodge Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Ritson Lodge Care Home

Lound Hall Fête

This is our stall for Lound Hall Fête. We had to make a scarecrow for the day that was musically-themed, so we chose to do The Bearded Lady from The Greatest Showman.

Everyone came to our stall to have a good look at her, and our new bubble machine was a really good eye-catcher. We made cakes with the Barchester logo on for a treat and were going to give them away, but people asked how much they were, so we sold them and the money went to charity.

Lots of the staff came down to support the event on their days off to help promote the home. We had lots of lovely chats with the public and there were also few people interested in coming to some of our groups that are open to the public, such as the Knit & Natter club.

Gardening Club

Gardening Club

We revisited the sunflowers after giving them a chance to sprout. They were coming along so well that we decided to get bigger pots. We were so excited to meet new members of the club.

,

Cookery Club

Residents got involved in the cookery club by making homemade scones. Flour went everywhere, but smiles were all around whilst these tasty treats were on offer.

Karaoke & Dancing

Karaoke & Dancing

105 year old, Grace, was taking over the microphone whilst everyone else enjoyed dancing and singing along, followed by tea and cake.

Animal Show

Katie came along with lots of animals that nobody had ever seen before. We saw some lead insects and were curious about what they ate; we were shocked to find out that they ate leaves as well. Everyone has enjoyed themselves and Katie is coming back to see us soon!

Balcony Fun

Balcony Fun

Balcony fun at Ritson Lodge. Residents enjoyed beverages and ice lollies whilst socialising on the balcony, enjoying the weather. Some residents joined in with some painting of the furniture on the balcony too.
