Activities at Sherwood Lodge Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our Activities Coordinator is constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. We have regular outings in the mini bus to nearby places of interest including local garden centres and parks as well as musicians and entertainers. We also hold bingo evenings which are helped out by our residents families. We also have a local pub nearby which the residents enjoy visiting from time to time for a spot of lunch or sitting in the gardens in the summer time. We try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests as best is possible. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

VE Day arts and crafts
Our ladies gathered over tea and coffee to help make and design some decorations for our upcoming VE day celebrations.
Our residents used this time to chat about all their wartime memories.
VE Day celebrations
On May 8th 1945, celebrations erupted around the world to mark the end of World War 2 in Europe.
Today we held our own VE day celebrations at Sherwood Lodge, with residents gathering to remember, reminisce and celebrate.
Our dining room was set up beautifully by our amazing activities' coordinator, Selina, and host Pam. And a delicious spread was made by our talented chef Nanaki. We listened to music of the era and printed out old photos to spark conversations about what our residents could remember.
A lovely afternoon was had by all.
Show Choir visit
Sherwood Lodge would like to extend a massive Thank you to the Preston Show Choir who kindly came to sing for our residents today.
Our residents sat and watched in awe at the beauty of your music. You have surely brightened up their week with your angelic voice. Music always helps make us all feel uplifted, and boosts our wellbeing, which has definitely been needed.
Easter Celebrations!
Our ladies and gents at Sherwood Lodge have had a wonderful day, with lots of visitors, including the Easter bunny who delivered Easter chocolate to each resident.
Our carers and hospitality team put on a marvellous Easter Egg-stravaganza for all residents and their loved ones.
The home held an Easter Afternoon Tea for all to enjoy and an egg-citing Easter Egg hunt.
Do you like good music?
We certainly do and so do our residents.
Today we had Ian in the home performing and filling the air with songs and music from all eras. We had a good old sing song and our residents and staff's dancing shoes were firmly on.
90th Birthday Celebrations
Doris hit a milestone birthday in April. Doris became 90 years young and has celebrated with her lovely family, residents and staff.
Doris was so rightly spoilt with gifts and a homemade birthday cake. A special day for a special lady.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

We do this through our Life Enrichment programme, designed to suit the needs of each person in our care, and support individuals in retaining their joy, purpose and life skills for as long as possible. We offer a range of daily activities for individuals to get involved in, whether that's socially as part of a group, solo or with a team member, ensuring everyone receives the support that adds enrichment to their life.
