Activities at South Grange Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Double celebrations

It was double celebrations for South Grange on the 30th December as resident, Christine and activities coordinator, Michelle celebrated their birthdays.  It was a wonderful day for both as they celebrated with especially prepared home-made cupcakes from the homes hospitality team which they shared with families and friends.  Happy birthday from us all!

Planning ahead

Staff and residents had a lovely afternoon making calendars for the New Year ahead. Many of the residents made the calendars for their families or friends. They were very pleased with their finished products.

Hogmanay

Hogmanay was celebrated in South Grange with a dram or two. Residents had a wonderful time at their party, Scottish music, singing and dancing. They even enjoyed a Scottish themed quiz with all questions being answered correctly! South Grange would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year.

Santa pays a visit

Santa came to visit South Grange with his elves and spent the whole afternoon  speaking with residents and staff.

Each resident and staff members received a small gift from Santa during his visit . Santa left the home to go and get ready for his busy night ahead and wished everyone a Merry Christmas.

Christmas party

Residents and staff had a wonderful Christmas Party with plenty of dancing, singing and party games. Our chef Bernard whipped  up a lovely assortment of nibbles which our residents enjoyed along with some drinks. A great day had by all!

Christmas tinsel and hats!

Today our residents got involved in fun-filled Christmas hat decorating activities.  We spent the afternoon decorating Christmas hats with tinsel and other Christmas items so we could wear them to our Christmas party.  It was a lovely day, which got us into the Christmas spirit and the hats turned out beautifully.
