Activities at Sutton Valence Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jacinta Wilson
The job description of Activities Coordinator fitted me perfectly and brought me out of retirement; I did miss the social aspect of working life... Enriching resident’s lives through art & crafts coupled with a vibrant caring nature is me to at T. I have a passion to give our residents access to their own self-esteem and confidence. Re-gain, explore or enhance their quality of Winter Life. Share the tools to make each moment the best it can be and if, it's, not then let's explore why? My team buddy laughs with me when I recall or mention Golden/Platinum moments I've been blessed with. I witness them every day. Finding a way to give purpose to a day is a mission of mine and I do my very best for our resident family to gain that.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Happy 100th Birthday Joan!
Joan your heart is made of gold, and you have a century's worth of wisdom and experiences. ...
Joan requested a quiet, private celebration with her family and friends to be held in our Private Dining and lounge area.
Afternoon Tea with soft, low background music, family and friends was Joan's wish to celebrate her 100th birthday wish granted.
Of course, we had to make it a little extra special by adding a decanted bottle of her favourite tipple, Sherry, accompanied by vintage Sherry glasses. That extra touch!
Joan was truly excited to receive her card from the King which we saved for her family to present to her; more so as Joan had expressed to a family member that she'd not received a card from the King!

Easter at Sutton Valence
Easter is the only time when it's perfectly safe to put all your eggs in one basket." - Evan Esar.
Well, we certainly did put our eggs all in one basket ... a basket of fun!
Our very own Easter bunny aka Amy hopped her way around our home with Easter Treats for our family residents.
The Easter display of hats were designed and created by our Craft Club. Their comradeship, sharing of ideas and assisting each other shines in the designs.

Easter Cake Competition
Resident Adele Govett has entered the Resident Category of Barchester Care Homes Easter Cake Competition. Adele said she had challenged herself to “create characters and flowers she hasn’t made before”. We think Adele has certainly fulfilled her personal challenge above and beyond! Adele also explained the reasoning behind her masterpiece. Her inspiration was the White Cross in Lenham where she grew up and the Easter Cross. Daffodils, Cherry Blossom, Pussy Willow, Lambs and chicks are all signs of Spring. New beginnings

Sutton Valence visits local pantomime
Our Residents enjoyed a fantastic afternoon showing of Beauty and the Beast.
Our very own staff member Emily stared as the Evil witch Sacre Bleu. Residents had such a fantastic time and Resident Enid recalls her time playing in an Amateur group when she was younger. The cast all gathered round at the end to take a group photo with everyone. Well done Emily for such a fantastic performance.
