Activities at Tandridge Heights Care Home

Our qualified and dedicated activities staff plan and implement all activities within the home. We try our best to arrange activities that reflect our residents interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can. We try to keep our residents active and happy.

Our activities include trips to garden centres, pubs, the cinema or the local theatre. We have many fun games like carpet bowls, Play Your Cards Right or armchair exercises. There are many musical events, singalongs, garden parties and tea parties for everyone to enjoy as well!

Kelly Sherwin

Activities Coordinator

I started at Tandridge Heights in 2020. Previous to this, I have been working as a carer sine 2010, which has helped me to understand the needs, wants and the individuality of all of our residents.

My main responsibility is provide a varied and engaging activities schedule every day for our residents; this helps to keep them involved in social and uplifting activities. We love to have parties to celebrate birthdays, national days and special occasions.

Life at Tandridge Heights Care Home

Virtual Summer Holiday

Residents at Tandridge Heights celebrated Cliff Richard’s birthday by going on a virtual summer holiday. We played seaside games and listened to Cliff Richard’s music.

Raising Money

Tandridge Heights held a raffle to raise money and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Society. Lots of local businesses and friends kindly donated the prizes. We also got lots of support from staff and relatives buying raffle tickets and managed to raise an amazing £381.50 for the charity.

Roald Dahl Day

Residents at Tandridge Heights celebrated Roald Dahl Day. We celebrated some of the most cherished and well-known Roald Dahl stories. Residents joined in by reading and discussing their favourite Roald Dahl books. We watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and even had our own sweet cart. We had a fun and exciting day!

In the Mood for Dancing

Residents at Tandridge Heights welcomed a local dance school to perform ballroom and Latin dancing. The dancing and the costumes were amazing and some of our residents even had a go at learning some new dance moves. This was a wonderful afternoon and everyone loved it.

Dog Show

Tandridge Heights held their annual dog show in the garden for residents, family and local friends. The residents loved spending time with the dogs and judging the show, categories included, the dog with the waggiest tale, the prettiest female and best dog under 1 year. We then all had afternoon tea and relaxed in the gardens.

Summer BBQ

Tandridge Heights held a summer BBQ for residents, staff and relatives. Head Chef, Mel, cooked up some favourites, such as chicken, corn on the cob, burgers and sausages.

We were also lucky enough to be joined by the Southern Strummers Ukulele Group, who performed lots of classic songs that everybody could sing along to. Everybody had a fantastic day and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
