Activities at Tandridge Heights Care Home

Our qualified and dedicated activities staff plan and implement all activities within the home. We try our best to arrange activities that reflect our residents interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can. We try to keep our residents active and happy.

Our activities include trips to garden centres, pubs, the cinema or the local theatre. We have many fun games like carpet bowls, Play Your Cards Right or armchair exercises. There are many musical events, singalongs, garden parties and tea parties for everyone to enjoy as well!

Kelly Sherwin

Activities Coordinator

I started at Tandridge Heights in 2020. Previous to this, I have been working as a carer sine 2010, which has helped me to understand the needs, wants and the individuality of all of our residents.

My main responsibility is provide a varied and engaging activities schedule every day for our residents; this helps to keep them involved in social and uplifting activities. We love to have parties to celebrate birthdays, national days and special occasions.

Life at Tandridge Heights Care Home

You're Awesome!

A Registered Nurse at Tandridge Heights has received a prestigious 15 Year Service Award in celebration of working at Barchester Healthcare for 15 years.

Setty Monyebudi, now Unit Nurse Manager, started at Barchester in 2005. She was the first Nurse to walk through the doors when the home newly opened in 2005. She welcomed and nursed our first ever resident and has continued caring and nursing residents and looking after their relatives to ensure that their needs have been met over all these years since.

VE Day Celebrations

At Tandridge Heights residents and staff celebrated 75 years of VE Day slightly different this year. However, this did not stop us celebrating and honouring our heroes – both then and now. We are lucky to have residents who served in the Second World War. Residents had individual sessions reading poems and sing along, shared memories and reminisced about life then and now, encouraging and constantly reminding us that life is beautiful and priceless. In such uncertain times this is a beautiful reminder: looking back at what that generation did gives us the strength and confidence that we can do this too.

Pampering Time

Tandridge Heights teamed up with a local award winning salon in Oxted called Elements. Elements saloon donated items to the home to help create a pop-up saloon.  The home has kept this going and the residents absolutely loved it.

Easter Cards for everyone

We have been inundated with Easter cards of well wishes for everyone. Our local school took the time to write cards to each of our residents. It really brightened everyone's day. We will be writing back to thank each and every one of them and cant wait to thank them in person too.

Long Service Award

She walked through the doors the day they opened and she has been looking after all our residents ever since. We know we are very fortunate to have her, and her long service was awarded with vouchers, presents and a party for everyone to enjoy.

Special Birthday Celebrations

One of our lovely residents just celebrated his 90th birthday. It wasn't how they had planned it with friends and family. However he was lucky enough to be joined for a special dinner with his wife as she is also a resident too. We made sure they spoke with their loved ones and he was pampered by everyone in the home.
