Activities at Trinity Manor Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Terrific Treating...

With All Hallows Eve recently, Laura & Joe donned their very best Halloween attire to spread a bit of seasonal fun & smiles throughout the home...

There wasn't a trick in sight, as they set about doing some reverse Trick or Treating, knocking on doors throughout the home and not taking away treats, but instead delivering lots of chocolate goodies to all of our residents to enjoy!

There were many delighted folk as they went up and down the corridors distributing their gifts to all they came across.

Treats & smiles galore!

A Huge Congratulations to Sohail!

We are proud to announce that our very own Sohail Daniel has been awarded General Manager of the year at this year’s Barchester Care Awards.

Thousands of nominations were received from our homes and hospitals across the UK. All entries were a very high standard and Sohail is over the moon to have been named National Winner, beating hundreds of other nominees.

Sohail joined winners from across the UK at a special awards event on the 12th of October to celebrate their outstanding achievements and to receive their awards.

Well done and huge congratulations from everyone at Trinity Manor!

Bollywood Boss!

Recently our residents really enjoyed a session of Bollywood dancing, through the Ooomph on demand system that we can access in our homes...

Activities Assistant, Jo, did a great job ensuring everyone got involved to help with keeping fit, even getting some unsuspecting visitors to join in too, which made it all the more fun!

What did make everyone giggle though, was when Sohail appeared out of the blue, saying, 'Now we're talking!!!' and showed us his very best Bollywood moves!!!

That right there, folks, is why he is Manager of the Year!

Show 'em how it's done, boss!

Marvellous Majorettes

With it being half term week here in Dorset recently, some of our staff had their children off school for the week, which has meant it has been the perfect opportunity for a little extra entertainment...

Head Housekeeper, Steph, brought her gorgeous daughters, Jemima & Ruby, in for a visit to see our residents for the morning and to say that they were delighted was an understatement!

Jemima (11 years old) & Ruby (6 Years old) are both members of the Merriott Majorettes who practice every Friday and both were very excited to come and show off some of the fabulous carnival pom-pom routines to some of our residents, performing first on our ground floor, then again upstairs for our Memory Lane residents.

There were smiles everywhere after their lovely performance and one resident up on Memory Lane absolutely adored, Jemima, even giving her a kiss on her hand.

Thank you, girls for your wonderful entertainment - Please come back again any time (and may be next time, you could bring the rest of your majorette friends along too?).

The home has been a very happy place because of you both!

A Fond Farewell

We were all very sad to recently learn that local Town Councillor and ex-Mayor of Sherborne, Anne Hall, is soon to be moving out of the area...

Anne has been a truly wonderful friend to all here at Trinity Manor, helping us with various events over the past few years, opening our top floor and also been a tremendous help in helping us make the Trinity Manor garden and balconies an altogether lovely place to be, as she has shared her gardening skills with us.

Not only that, but Anne has been a wonderful external ambassador of our home and for that we are truly grateful to her.

So, with news of her imminent departure whizzing round, we immediately decided to invite her to tea with our residents, so they could all have the opportunity to wish her well.

We heard how Anne is off to Devon to be nearer to family and also enjoy a home with views of the river Exe estuary - lucky thing!

Thank you, Anne - You have been wonderful to us here in the home and we will miss you greatly - There will always be tea & cake here for you if and when you are next in the area!

A Wall of Colour

A few weeks ago, up on our Memory Lane balconies, there was a hive of activity...

With a little help from his friends, Activities Assistant, Jo, helped to bring some much needed colour to our outside spaces.

With some special assistance from our Head of Maintenance, Phill, who kindly attached a special wall planter to the side of the building, some of the residents then got busy places some lovely pockets of colour into each compartment.

We think they have done us proud and it really has brightened up the area a treat!

Thank you everyone for all your efforts - it's look fabulous now!
