Activities at Trinity Manor Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

A Sensory Sensation!

The residents up on Memory Lane thoroughly enjoyed their time with our lovely guest, Chereen Scott recently...

Chereen brought some of her Body Shop items in for the residents to enjoy a pamper session and here's what she had to say about her visit: -

'I had the absolute pleasure visiting Trinity Manor Care home to run a Body Shop pamper activity for some of their residents living with dementia, with the aim to offer a mentally and physically stimulating activity through the sense of smell and touch.

Wow. I came away pretty emotional, I'd had to hold back the tears a couple of times, but I had such a sense of fulfillment to have been able to support a beautiful activity of enrichment. It was a joy to be involved ❤️.

The staff there are wonderful and I was so moved by the whole experience. The depth of their care, the kindness, the patience, just so beautiful.

The residents all received hand cleansing and moisturising massage, nail treatment, body fragrance spritzing, all whilst the room was diffusing lavender and Vetiver fragrance with relaxing music on in the background. It was lovely, and I really hope the residents benefited on some level from those moments we shared.

Thank you Laura McAllister for the opportunity. The work you do is quite honestly amazing.'

Thank you Chereen for coming to see us and especially for your kind words about our home!

Vaccination Station!

We are delighted to announce that we recently welcomed an amazing team of people from our wonderful NHS, who spent the morning here in the home (and some of the afternoon too) distributing covid vaccinations for those who wanted them.

Both residents and staff were offered the vaccines and we are so very grateful for the marvellous way in which it all happened so swiftly and smoothly.

Huge thanks go to the amazing group of individuals who helped to ensure that everyone here is kept safe and well as we head towards the winter months – THANK YOU ALL!

Apples Aplenty

We would like to thank the family who recently gifted us a huge bag of apples from their garden to the home by leaving them with our reception team.

New Head Chef, Stuart, was in his element as he quickly made light work of ensuring that none of them went to waste, hence the French Apple Tart was quickly added to our recent menus for all to devour their deliciousness! And devour they did!

Thank you, whoever you are, they were much appreciated and enjoyed by all here at Trinity Manor.

Strictly Great Fun!

With Dementia Awareness month coming to a close, here at Trinity Manor things are just beginning to liven up...

The autumn time is upon us and the nights are drawing in, which means that BBC Strictly Come Dancing is now back on our screens in the run up to Christmas (much to our resident's delight!), which also means we are all getting our 'wiggle on' here in the home, channeling our inner Giovanni & Dianne!

With Debbie Knight - Health & Happiness Coach, coming to visit us here in the home recently, it was impossible not to get involved as her sessions are infectious in the best way possible. Everyone that could, was up and dancing and those that couldn't stand, moved and grooved in their chairs along to the music and shaked their maracas.

Thank you Debbie for spreading so much joy here in our home - please come and visit again soon! You are AMAZING!!!

Community Collaboration!

What a wonderful day recently as we supported Sherborne Fire Station for their very first charity car wash event since before the pandemic…

As the fire crew quickly got to work washing the cars of the many passers-by, the Trinity Manor team who consisted of: Admin Manager, Becky, Home Services Advisor, Rebekah and her daughter, Grace, got busy inside the fire station keeping the car owners/fire fighters/their families well hydrated and fed as they hosted a tea & cake stall – BIG THANK YOU to all who contributed to this!

The atmosphere was so wonderful, as everyone worked their socks off at this event, doing an absolutely sterling job!

We were delighted to bump into Barry, the father of one of the fire fighters - Peter, who has also been a past respite guest of the home and we were later also joined by current resident, Sheila and Activities Assistant, Joe, who also got involved with a little bit of washing and rinsing, helping to clean our very own mini bus!

Collectively, we helped to raise a whopping: -

£1128.92

All in aid of The Fire Fighters Charity: -

Huge gratitude to everyone who came along to support this amazing event – YOU ARE AMAZING!

Royal Stamp of approval...

Following on from the sad passing of Her Majesty the Queen, residents were very keen to chat and share their memories of her.

Huge thanks go to the wonderful Becky King, Admin Manager, who very kindly brought in her nan’s special collection of Royal Mail special edition stamps for the residents to look at, which have been issued throughout the Queen’s life and reign, representing all the momentous occasions she lived through.

Everyone loved looking at them and recalled their own special moments linking to The Queen.
