Activities at Vecta House Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Hello, My name is Tanya and I am the Lifestyle Leader here at Vecta House.

Easter Activities

Residents at Vecta House enjoyed an eggs-tensive range of Easter activities that were very messy but also a lot of fun to do. We made sweet treats to enjoy eating later in the day, arts and crafts but the best of all the activities was the messiest of them all. We call it paint pouring (this is when you add a mixture of paint in a pot then slowly pour it over your item of choice ie coasters, polystyrene eggs and bunnies). Residents and staff had a fun filled Easter weekend, they tucked in to a delicious Easter meal of roast lamb followed by Easter cake prepared by the home’s head chef, Chris Selway, and then we all enjoyed an Easter egg from the Easter bunny. Our amazing staff joined in with an Easter cake competition and there were some stunners!

Red Nose Day

For red nose day this year we enjoyed making some lovely themed cakes and had lots of fun playing games in the afternoon. Our residents had a great time and really enjoyed eating the cakes later on!

International Women's Day

At Vecta house, the ladies got to enjoy a lovely pamper day with hand massages, nail painting and a lovely glass of wine. Everyone was feeling very relaxed at the end of the day!

Happy International Chocolate Day

Our wonderful residents celebrated the day by baking and decorating cupcakes and having a delicious afternoon tea. The day was truly enjoyed by all.

Big Garden Birdwatch

Residents spent the day painting bird boxes and watching the birds that flew in the gardens, we had an amazing time discussing what birds were our favourites.
