Activities at White Lodge Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators here at White Lodge enjoy the fulfillment of helping residents feel important and a part of something. Meaningful moments are created through laughter and comfort. A varied activities programme is offered for the betterment of residents' bodies and minds, including music for health, 'Oomph' sessions and chair Zumba, in addition to coffee and cake groups that all inevitably lead to giggles and old fashioned singalongs. Also, we organise parties, trips out, walks in the country, bus outings and wonderful entertainers to visit our home. A sneaky tipple is always welcomed with cheese and crackers and, at the end of the day, it is important to go home knowing our activities have made a difference.

Life at White Lodge Care Home
Carers Choir Perform for White Lodge Residents
White Lodge were delighted to welcome back the Swindon Carers Choir to perform for residents. The beautiful singing was very much enjoyed from this group of special volunteers. Thank you so much for the wonderful performance.
Relaxing Sunday
Sundays are all about relaxing and today White Lodge residents were treated to hand massages. One resident helped out pushing the trolley and handing out all that was needed. The theme continued with some mindful colouring, always an enjoyable activitiy.
Magic Table is Popular with Residents
We often talk about our Magic Table and at the next Dementia Cafe there will be a demonstration so you can see the magic for yourselves. We are so fortunate to have this resource and the residents really enjoy the games and activities offered. The Magic Table is an interactive light projector that was originally developed in The Netherlands. It's a specialist piece of technology designed to support residents living with dementia, and is proven to help staff promote stimulation through specialised games.
Array of Colour
Normally we can't get outside due to the cold or rain, but this week it was due to the heat! It was lovely that it was finally the perfect temperature for a stroll and to enjoy the continuing array of colour from the flowers and fields as the greenery has become golden.
Eyes Down.....
The White Lodge residents and team were pleased to see the temperature dial go down today, but we still took things easy going for one of our popular bingo sessions. As always a sociable group, but at the same time it is taken quite seriously with dabbers at the ready it was eyes down.....
Personalised Gift for Resident
For those who work in care it is a vocation not just a job and the White Lodge team often think of residents even when away from the home. Activities Coordinator Margaret recent went to watch Andre Rieu in Austria to celebrate a special birthday. It sounded wonderful. Knowing how much one of our residents loves Andre Rieu she bought her back a gift from Austria, a cushion, this really does have pride of place in her room now.
