"Our mum was a resident in White Lodge for the final few weeks of her long life. During this time, she received exemplary nursing care and outstanding levels of attention from the nursing staff. The facilities at the home are first-rate, and the home is set in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside. Mum could not have had a more peaceful and caring environment for her final days."

"Mum has been staying at White Lodge for 6 months now following an initial 2-week respite stay. She arrived in a bit of a sorry state, recently widowed and suffering from dementia and really not enjoying life. She has been really well looked after, met new friends and is loving life again. Always saying how good the staff are. Very happy that circumstances brought her here. Thanks to all."

"Generally the care and attention provided to my brother, he needs more encouragement to move out of bed and to be more mobile to maintain good health. On security we have found the reception area to be unattended on many occasion, but overall we are happy that my brother is being well looked after - he's in the right place."

"I moved my aunt to White Lodge from another care home and I am so pleased I did. I have had regular communication with staff, my aunt is very happy here. The activities are great, my aunt enjoys taking part. I feel involved in her plan of care which is important to me. Overall very happy with White Lodge."

"When it comes to the time when you have to put your loved one into full-time care it can be very upsetting and stressful. I can not speak highly enough for White Lodge, my mother-in-law has been a resident since January 2023. Everyone has gone over and above the help her settle, care for and involve her. The nurse staff are so caring and professional that she is thriving with all the excellent care she is having. The activity staff are so kind offering a fantastic opportunity for all the residents to join in with the fun things they do, she really looks forward to activity days. The maintenance team are so helpful, nothing is too much trouble to make her room look like home. The housekeeping team do a fantastic job, White Lodge is very clean in all areas we are so impressed. The catering staff produce delicious meals and are very accommodating to fussy eaters. She has a beautiful room on the ground floor overlooking the lake, it’s so peaceful, as a family we feel so lucky we found White Lodge."

"My husband has been a resident of White Lodge Care Home since January of this year. He has at all times been treated with dignity and respect, supporting us both in what has been such a difficult decision for him to leave our home. All staff without exception appear to love their work, this shows in the permanent smiles on their faces. Nothing is too much trouble. (Yesterday 8th of May) we celebrated the King's Coronation at a bbq, an enormous success for the activities team and all staff."

"My mum is 93 years old, she had been living in her own home for the past 58 years, she had been living independently and on her own for the past 15 years after the passing of my late father. After a short period of illness and hospitalisation, we agreed residential care was the best option for Mum. We highly recommend White Lodge Care Home. The management and staff have provided my mum with first-class residential care from her first day's assessments right through to the present day. Mum is super happy there and now considers it her forever home. The staff at White Lodge put 'care' first in everything they do. Mum speaks highly of everyone there, without exception. The management team listen first and always acts quickly to requests from Mum and our family. We couldn't ask or expect for a better-managed or responsive team. At White Lodge, there are no 'heirs and grace'. What you see is what you get. The decor is sympathetic yet comfortable. White Lodge offers good value with excellent care!"

"My wife stayed at White Lodge for a week of respite care. The management and the staff all helped her settle in showing kindness and attention to her needs. When I visited her, she was relaxed and happy just as other residents appeared to be. The full programme of activities kept her stimulated, so important for people with dementia. Knowing my wife was happy and well cared for enabled me to take a much-needed break."

"My mother lived in White Lodge for two and a half years. During that time she was beautifully looked after. The care and nursing she increasingly required was unfailingly professional and caring, with the staff always personable, respectful and compassionate. She was treated with such dignity. They clearly became very fond of her. There was always a nurse on duty. I was given regular briefings on her health and was always phoned if there were any issues. The staff were well supported by a good local GP practice. It was a lovely environment for her as it had such a warm and friendly atmosphere. It is a well-appointed place and the food is excellent. It is managed very well. My mother had a lovely, large ensuite room with a charming view over gardens and a lake. I was able to visit whenever I wanted. I thoroughly recommend it. It was - literally- the perfect place for my mother."

"Since my sister has been with you (July 2022), she has had exemplary care from everyone on Treetops Ward. Although she has a rare form of dementia the staff are well trained and understand the different types of dementia. Her birthday in January was lovely with banners, balloons and cake. Her nails had been painted and lipstick was in place. Thank you all so much for taking such wonderful care of her and making it easier for her family to leave her with you. One staff member, in particular, is so good with her and always cheerful."

"My parents were both quite ill when they arrived at the care home. My mother was bedbound during her short stay before she eventually passed away but the care she received during that period could not be faulted and the staff were extremely proficient and treated her with dignity at all times. My father was not bedbound throughout this period and was able to look after himself with very appropriate support from all the staff. He was well fed and made to feel as comfortable as possible with the configuration of the rooms optimised to suit the circumstances. The ability of my wife and I to visit as frequently as possible and stay over when needed is something we were extremely grateful for and certainly helped my father deal with the difficult situation. I can only express how grateful we were to all the staff."

"I just had to write to say that Barchester White Lodge Care Home is an amazing home - my mum has been there since July 2022 - although she is very poorly with dementia, staff at the home treat her with the utmost respect and kindness. Last week on Valentine's Day I attended an afternoon tea - there were red balloons, roses, cakes, music and so much more. The atmosphere was amazing and although my mum cannot communicate anymore - she was holding my hand tightly and moving to the music. I was so impressed with the whole event and the home - that I have now offered to volunteer. I really can sleep at night knowing that my mum is in very safe hands."

Mum has significantly declined cognitively but this does not prevent respect and dignity from being upheld and I witness this continuously. "Although my father-in-law had a short stay here we were always dealt with in a caring and compassionate manner. They were accommodating with his room to allow access for my husband's wheelchair whilst visiting. Very clean and welcoming with a beautiful view of the lake which was perfect as he always enjoyed fishing and the outdoors in his earlier years."

"My mum has dementia and last year my siblings and I took the difficult decision to move Mum, recently widowed, from her home, into White Lodge. It was the best thing we ever did for her. She settled in well, made friends and gets involved in all sorts of activities, both in the home and in the local area. She loves the staff and knows they care for her. My siblings and I are so relieved and can relax knowing that she is safe in a professionally run and caring environment."

"White Lodge has looked after my family member through covid very well and allowed visiting socially distanced throughout. They always are very kind and respectful to her. They handled a recent hospital visit very well and kept us informed. I would highly recommend the scheme and all of the staff. The property and the grounds are kept very nice and there are always activities for people to enjoy."

"I looked at numerous homes before we decided on White Lodge. The accommodation including the ensuite bedroom is to a very high standard with beautiful views over the gardens. The gardens are extensive and beautifully kept and allow for some lovely outdoor walks. The food looks excellent most importantly the staff are caring and dedicated. The range of activities provided for the residents is fantastic. The manager is very supportive. Mum looks well and happy and speaks highly of the staff. I am happy to recommend."

"My grandmother is very happy here. The staff all seem lovely, and there are a wide variety of activities for her to take part in, and she always seems to have a lot to say about what she's been up to. The staff/care home have been very accommodating and brilliant at helping to arrange visits despite Covid. The rooms are lovely with a nice view over the lakes. We're looking forward to sunny visits in the summer sitting on the outside veranda!"

"Our experience of White Lodge has been great; despite lockdown and Covid, we have been able to see Mum. The introduction of bedroom visits has been wonderful for Mum just to have that extra contact. The staff are brilliant, so warm and friendly. Mum seems to really enjoy getting involved in activities and keeps herself busy. She is most definitely thriving in the White Lodge environment."

"I cannot praise the staff and facilities at White Lodge highly enough in what has been an extremely difficult period of time, both my mother and father-in-law through circumstances took residence at White Lodge just prior to the pandemic and as a result, visiting was initially very limited. Both were welcomed and cared for by an extremely caring team and soon settled in. Sadly my father-in-law has since passed during which time the compassion and support given by all staff members to our immediate family was of an extremely high standard which undoubtedly helped at a very sad time for us all. My mother-in-law remains a resident at White Lodge and is very happy and well cared for with all care provided by a willing, caring team always with a smile, in particular the activities coordinator who not only ensures residents are invited to join in with several activities provided to suit all levels of ability makes a point of taking time to talk to residents and family members during visiting times."

"Throughout her stay at Barchester White Lodge Care Home my mother was treated with dignity, respect and kindness. I was always kept informed of her condition and was invited into the home to meet her GP on one of his regular visits. Whenever I had contact with the nursing or caring team they were always helpful, courteous and polite, the same can be said of the reception staff. The grounds of the home are very well kept and the interior was always clean and tidy. Her room was spacious and well-appointed. The management of the home have set the highest standards of professionalism and go out of their way to get to know their residents as well as relatives."

"The staff were all very kind. polite and helpful. They responded positively to requests. All the staff worked extremely hard to give each resident a happy experience. 'Call' buttons were answered immediately. Nurses were knowledgeable and professional in their duties. I felt that residents could have been encouraged to sit outside in the beautiful grounds. Wheelchair users could have benefitted from having volunteers to wheel them outside. The food was of a good standard and portions were adequate."

"Mum and Dad came into White Lodge on the 11th Match. They have both been very happy. The food is excellent. Staff are kind, considerate and attentive. We all celebrated Mum and Dad's 75th wedding anniversary in the garden. Residents, friends, family and staff were all invited. A fabulous day. A huge thank you to all the staff who took over organising it for the family. We can't thank you enough."

"My wife was terminally ill when she was placed in White Lodge at the behest of social services. It was a sound decision and during my wife's time at White Lodge, she has given exemplary care. A feature of White Lodge is the 'can do' attitude of the staff at all levels and their sense of urgency. White Lodge exudes a warm atmosphere that is the product of the empathy the staff have with their patients. I am very grateful for the manner of its care for my wife at the end of her life. White Lodge is very well managed!"

"I visit White Lodge on a regular basis with my therapy dog. I love coming into the home, it's such a welcoming, caring place. The residents I come into contact with are happy and relaxed and are clearly very fond of the activities Coordinator as she is them. The home is always beautifully clean and fresh and very well maintained as is the garden. Any care/nursing staff I might come into contact with are always friendly and appear to enjoy working at White Lodge. I feel privileged to be able to visit White Lodge as a volunteer and my dog is always happy to see the residents. White Lodge is a very special place."

"My friend is a resident at Barchester White Lodge Care Home in Swindon and is very happy living there. When I visited her recently, she told me how she loved her comfortable room, the meals were tasty, and how helpful and kind all the staff were. She also told me how much she enjoyed the activities that were offered and the effort and hard work of the activities coordinator went out of her way to make sure she was taking part in things she enjoyed. I saw how nice and clean her room was and was able to take her out for a walk in the beautiful grounds of White Lodge. I also got to meet the activities coordinator and had a lovely chat with her. She is very friendly, caring and makes a big effort to keep the residents busy and occupied. There is a wide and varied program that changes weekly and there are plenty of books, games and newspapers always available."
