Activities at White Lodge Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators here at White Lodge enjoy the fulfillment of helping residents feel important and a part of something. Meaningful moments are created through laughter and comfort. A varied activities programme is offered for the betterment of residents' bodies and minds, including music for health, 'Oomph' sessions and chair Zumba, in addition to coffee and cake groups that all inevitably lead to giggles and old fashioned singalongs. Also, we organise parties, trips out, walks in the country, bus outings and wonderful entertainers to visit our home. A sneaky tipple is always welcomed with cheese and crackers and, at the end of the day, it is important to go home knowing our activities have made a difference.

Shayla Sharmeen
Hi my name is Shayla and I'm the activities coordinator here at White Lodge.
Prior to taking the position, I joined White Lodge as care assistant in 2022 and loved every minute of my role. My passion is very much in supporting the day to day lives of the people we care for, it is important to me that our weekly calendar offers rich experiences with music from live entertainers, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.
Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining White Lodge that will make for an enriched activities program to be developed, one that keeps them at the heart of the local community. I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact me direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

We had a fantastic time at White lodge celebrating Bonfire Night!
It was a successful event bring our community together in an evening of celebration and remembrance.
The sky was filled with vibrant fireworks which'd lighted up some many faces. It was a pleasure to bring our community together for the evening with the community and families joining our residents. The evening really did go off with a bang as we celebrated tradition, and a true sense of togetherness.

Diwali Celebrations
What a brilliant time we had recently celebrating Diwali!
Residents at White Lodge helped with decorations to mark the occasion making colourful patterned "rangoli" and electric candles at the reception to welcome the guests for the event.
Diwali honours Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, the lights help Lakshmi find her way into people's home.
The chef prepared traditional Indian dishes including onion bhaji, samosa, traditional Indian cookies, Indian sweets and masala tea for all our residents and their families to enjoy!
The staff even performed a special bollywood dance for the residents with many of them swaying along to the music.

Pumpkin Patch Visit
What a brilliant day we had recently at White Lodge as we went on our mini bus trip to a pumpkin patch!
Our residents had a brilliant afternoon as we visited Sustain Farm Shop for their pumpkin picking event.
Getting into the spirit of the season, our residents had the opportunity to pick their own pumpkins and meet some fury friends along the way.
Of course our trips are never complete without a hot cup of tea and slice of home made cake.
Regular outings are just one aspect of our life enrichment program and all the trips we take are at the request of the residents. Our monthly activities calendar boasts a range of outings and entertainment.
