Activities at Wimborne Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Zoe Freeman
I have been working in care since 2019 and love the industry. I came from working on cruise ships and running events and activities there which has set me up to be a successful activities coordinator in care. You will never see me without a smile on my face and always bring my fun and bubbly personality to my job. My favourite part of my job is making people cheerful and help make their wishes come true to show people that age is just a number and we can have fun no matter what!

Life at Wimborne Care Home
Knit & Knatter Group
Residents have been knitting scarfs for our outside gardens and courtyards to give them an all-round burst of colour and vitality. The scarfs can now be admired with a cup of tea and a slice of yummy cake.
Wimborne Womble
Now that the sunny weather has finally arrived, the Wimborne Womble group enjoyed an outing to Lakeside Resort to see the local wild bird life. Residents were luckily enough to see the new arrivals of cygnets being fed by Mum & Dad.
Kitchen Corner
Once a week, residents get together in the living kitchen to discuss, cook or bake whichever sweet or savoury snack they fancy. Most recently, they decided to make chocolate lollies with freshly melted milk and white chocolate, which they then decorated with sweet treats - yummy!
Afternoon Tea Parties
For one week in April, we held afternoon tea parties for residents and the local community; people were welcome to visit our wonderful home and enjoy the delicious cakes, tea and coffee provided. Our friendly team were on hand to provide tours of the home and talk about the wonderful services that we offer.
Easter Fun
Everyone at Wimborne got into the Easter spirit and enjoyed an egg-tastic week that was filled with plenty of Easter-related games, baking and, of course, lots of chocolate eggs. Residents particularly liked making and decorating the ‘Easter Chocolate Crispies’, which were then enjoyed with an afternoon cup of tea. We also entered our very cake into Barchester's Easter Cake Competition, with the wonderfully designed ‘Easter Whacky'.
Zoolab
Residents were delighted to hear that ZooLab will once again be visiting us for the afternoon with their wonderful selection of various small animals & reptiles, including Barry the bearded dragon, and George the guinea pig. All of the animals were given lots of attention, especially the miniature hedgehog, which is the residents' new favourite.
