"My mum has now spent just over a year at Barchester Wimborne Care Home. We as a family can not fault the care and support she receives from every single member of staff. From admin, housekeeping, maintenance, kitchen, carers and management. Everyone has their role in looking after my mum and they have all become like extended family. The food is excellent, all the organised activities are brilliant and go above and beyond my expectations, love being involved myself when I can. The home itself is always clean and well maintained. Thank you to the carers for the care they show my mum. I can't thank you all enough."

"Mum received excellent care, she was respected and treated with great care and dignity during her final weeks. All the Barchester Wimborne Care Home staff are fantastic and I would happily recommend the home. They listen to the views of the residents and family and have great connections with the community and local health centre."

"We searched for a nice care home for my auntie and from the moment we walked through the door, we knew this was the place for her. Every member of staff greeted us and all the residents looked very happy. There was plenty going on and everywhere was spotless, modern and spacious. The room we chose looked out onto a beautiful garden. Auntie was not happy about leaving her own home but very soon she was talking about her future there and we saw a smile which we hadn't seen for a long time. It was a joy to see her happy. So much attention to detail here, even the chef visited her and asked about what she liked to eat as she was a vegetarian. She said for him not to make a fuss but true to his word he made her some lovely meals! The new manager there is lovely, she really is committed and dedicated to her job. Sadly auntie had a short time here and passed away peacefully Boxing Day after a lovely day. Thank you everyone for looking after her so well!"

"Lovely, welcoming care home. Staff are extremely friendly and lovely with the residents. Nothing seems to be any problem. Food is amazing, like going to a restaurant, all freshly prepared and lots of choice! Rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. Activities are always offered if you want to participate. Pleased we chose Barchester Wimborne Care Home for our mum as we don't have to worry about her like we used to when she was at home. Highly recommended."

"I visited a very dear friend yesterday at Wimborne Care Home at Hayling Island. She had had a very distressing few years ending with the death of her beloved husband in the Summer. She was in a very distressed and unhappy place during and after her husband's death. She was put in another care home on Hayling but did not adjust very well. She has only been in Wimborne for a matter of weeks and the transformation is amazing! She was happy and relaxed when I visited yesterday and said it was 'like home from home'. She has settled in wonderfully well, and feels loved and cared for! The food is excellent and she looks forward to her meals; she is cared for in every respect, hair, nails, clean clothes etc; and she enjoys the camaraderie of the other residents and the carers (whom she calls Angels!) as well as the outings in the minibus. I was made to feel very welcome too. I have visited many care homes in the course of my voluntary work over the years - Wimborne is simply the best!"

"My family has had the privilege of regularly visiting the Barchester Wimborne Care Home over the past two years. Our dad was a resident for two years. We chose the Wimborne after looking at long-term care for our loved one. Having viewed several homes for people with dementia prior to Dad moving in. He thought he 'owned it'. From his daily care, life, entertainment, health, he retained his dignity and self-respect. He kept his sense of humour, was encouraged to be himself. As a family, we saw him change as the dementia took hold but we could visit anytime. It became a second home to us. This last year has been difficult as Dad neared the end of his life, we chose to let him stay at the Wimborne where the skilled team looked after him, kept him safe and 'loved' him, so when the sad time came, his extended were there 24/7. They took it in turns to keep him clean, talk to him, feed him, so his self-respect was honoured. The team went above and beyond whilst still caring for other service users."

"One of the most difficult choices to make is to find the right care home for your parent. From the initial phone call through to my first visit and making the decision that Wimborne would provide the most suitable care was a positive journey. Six months on my parents have received kindness, respect, excellent care and accommodation and overall a happy atmosphere for both residents and families when visiting. To all of the staff at Wimborne, I thank you."

"My mother spent three years at Wimborne and was so happy. She called it "home" and it was her home. I myself came from Brighton and as much as it is a difficult journey I was never able to find a home on the same high standard of care. I myself run a house and am very impressed by the level of care and all the carers and the care they give and how they are with residents. I highly recommend Wimborne."

"Mum is always clean and well dressed and she enjoys the interactions from all the staff when they walk by and call out to her. She especially enjoys music when they either have a visiting singer or the activity lady turns the tele off and plays music."

"My wife suffers from dementia and has been in Wimborne Care Home for 16 months. I visit her every day and find she is being looked after with a caring and dedicated staff who treat her with great respect and dignity and I have nothing but praise for all of them who are doing a different and worthwhile job. The gardens are kept in great order and her private room is always clean and warm. The food is of the highest quality and is always served in a friendly atmosphere. All in all, it is like one happy family."

"The only element that I would suggest would be a locked cupboard for any valuables/purses and the staff and daughter keep a key. Other than that, this home is absolutely amazing and the staff are so very kind and caring to my mother."

"My mum lived here for 9 months before she returned to Wales. The care she received was outstanding, she felt she was on holiday and said it was the loveliest place she had ever stayed and the staff were so lovely with her. The activities staff are exceptional, they knew exactly what mum liked doing and always went out of their way to make sure she was as occupied as possible. The food was outstanding and so well presented, the residents were treated like five star hotel guests."

"The team at Wimbourne took superb care of my stepmother, from her early stage Alzheimers disease, up to the end of life, a period of two years. The level of caring offered to her was excellent, universally through the full Wimbourne team. They have my heartfelt thanks and those of the whole family for their loving care given."

"My mother has been a resident here for 3 years and is now 106 years old. She has always been treated with kindness and dignity and the staff enjoy looking after her. She is no longer mobile and staff are always popping in and out of her room to check her. She always eats her food that is carefully prepared for her and has to be fed. I visited many care homes and chose very carefully and have not been disappointed. All the staff are very kind and appear to enjoy looking after her. I am so lucky and so is she!"

"I visited many care homes before we brought mum to Wimborne Care Home. I must say I was most impressed with it here. The staff have been so caring and kind to my mum especially recently when she was quite poorly and admitted to hospital she spent three weeks in bed in hospital came back to Wimborne and the next day I was so impressed to find her up washed and sat in her chair. Mum loves all the staff even though she gets grumpy at times. I couldn't wish for better care for mum as I know how hard it must be sometimes for the staff but they never show anything but kindness and to top it all the food is excellent."

"Most of the time I'm very happy here just sad at times as I can't do what I used to be able to. I find all the girls (staff) kind and helpful and caring! The food is very good and I enjoy my dinners although I don't want to eat much, my family and friends are always made welcome, and can eat with me whenever they like. I like to sit at the window and watch the birds and listen to my music. I know if I want anything I just have to call one of the staff."

"My mother has been a resident at Wimborne Care Home for about 7 months now after being at another care home in Chichester for six years. Wimborne Care Home exceeds our expectations. The décor is wonderful, bright and cheery. The carers are absolutely wonderful and caring is not enough to describe them; they are so loving to my mother. I put all this down to the manager. She runs the care home brilliantly and has such a professional attitude as well as a caring nature."

"My Mother has lived here for 6 years and has been settled and happy in that time. The members of staff are warm and caring and her needs now exceed those normally expected from a residential care home. The staff have accommodated the changes in her condition following a seriously debilitating stroke and in a number of serious illnesses. We are very pleased with the standard of care."
