Activities at Wimborne Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Zoe Freeman
I have been working in care since 2019 and love the industry. I came from working on cruise ships and running events and activities there which has set me up to be a successful activities coordinator in care. You will never see me without a smile on my face and always bring my fun and bubbly personality to my job. My favourite part of my job is making people cheerful and help make their wishes come true to show people that age is just a number and we can have fun no matter what!

Life at Wimborne Care Home
Valentines Day
We had a day full of love, first of with a visit from our therapy dog Rufus to spread the love, following a special valentines lunch and enjoyed an afternoon of love songs! Our Manager, Sarah shared the love by giving out chocolates to our staff and residents, but the highlight of the day was residents and staff sharing their secret to a long lasting relationship!
Valentines Trail
We are starting this valentines week with spreading some love all around the island! Make the most of this lovely day and head out for a lovely walk to find these flowers. We have been all morning putting out roses. If you are lucky enough to find one just bring it along to us and collect your prize! We can’t wait to see you
Beach Trip
The sun is shining so we have to head on out to the beach! We are so lucky to live right by the sea so we made our way to the beach and enjoyed a rich velvety hot chocolate from Pebble Beach Coffee Shop and we were even greeted by some lovely local puppies.
100th Birthday!
We are overwhelmed with the generosity of from not only the community Hayling Island but all over the country and some from even further afield! Ivy received over 147 cards and on top of that the most prestigious one of them all from King Charles III
As well as cake, chocolate, flowers and many more wonderful gifts. She had a day full of excitement and laughter opening up all her cards with a little help and a tea part in the afternoon singing along to all her favourite songs! Ivy wanted to thank each and every one of you to help make her 100th birthday so special!
National Activity Providers Week
In celebration of National Activities Providers and Professionals Week we wanted to acknowledge and show our appreciation to the wonderful Zoe who runs our activities programme here at Wimborne! Our residents love all the activities she provides from musical moments to painting and everything in between! Thank you for all you do.
Sea Shanty Performance
The famous Hayling Island sea shanty group came to Wimborne to perform for our residents. Many of them enjoyed singing along with these pirates and stamping their feet along with the music. Everyone enjoyed talking to the group after learning about how they got into such a unique group and loved hearing all their unique songs and already can’t wait for them to visit again.
