Activities at Winchester House Care Home
Our activities team are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are regular outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest, including the local priory and garden centres, as well as visits from musicians, a wide range of entertainers. We are lucky enough to have a enthusiastic team of volunteers who regularly visit the home throughout the week, and our yearly pantomime is a real crowd-pleaser and is well-attended by residents, relatives and members of staff. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Winchester House is fun and active.

Life at Winchester House Care Home
International Nurses' Day
We wanted to thank all our wonderful nurses for the hard work they do each and every day. Barchester thanked them all with chocolates and we decided to gift them all their own personalised jar of treats.
We also wanted to take this opportunity to thank the nurses in our local community who have also been working extra hard, especially over the past few months, delivering vaccinations to everyone, so we delivered doughnuts to all our local healthy living centres and surgeries.
Al Fresco Entertainment
It was so wonderful to be able to welcome back one of our regular entertainers: Rob T. Rob set up in the courtyard so that all the bedrooms circling him could watch and listen to him sing from the comfort and safety of their rooms. There were smiling faces all round, from staff, residents, and even some of our relatives visiting.
Gardening Club
As part of our big garden clean up, we have started a gardening club every Tuesday. The gentlemen love coming out into the court yard to help us clean up and we are looking forward to stripping everything back and started fresh with new plants, flowers, ornaments and lighting. We can’t wait to sit and enjoy our new gardens when they are done.
Endless hours of Pleasure
Staff and Residents recently spent the afternoon making Bird Feeders to spread around our beautiful grounds here at Winchester House. We have large natural gardens that attract many different birds and songbirds. They give our residents endless hours of pleasure watching them. Our home made feeders are basic but currently are doing an excellent job.
Therapy and Stimulation
Here at Winchester House in our Memory Lane, we understand how important it is to stimulate our residents in many different ways. We are very proud of our magic table, an all in one interactive solution for stimulation. The Magic Table is a projector that can project absolutely anywhere and is seen on the picture above projecting a game onto our floor mat. Our residents love it and there are many, many games they can play and enjoy the magic of the Magic Table.
We also have some therapy dolls for residents on our memory lane who would benefit from the pleasure and relaxation the dolls could bring.
Welcome back! We are so pleased to see you.
