Activities at Winchester House Care Home

Our activities team are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are regular outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest, including the local priory and garden centres, as well as visits from musicians, a wide range of entertainers. We are lucky enough to have a enthusiastic team of volunteers who regularly visit the home throughout the week, and our yearly pantomime is a real crowd-pleaser and is well-attended by residents, relatives and members of staff. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Winchester House is fun and active.

Back to the Floor Day - Michelle our Regional Director serves lunch to our residents.

In recognition of National Customer Service Week, team members and support staff are taking part in Barchester’s ‘Back to the Floor’ initiative.

‘Back to the Floor' gives the opportunity to support teams and residents by being present and available to help and support with simple day to day tasks and recognise the great work happening every day.

Everyone working in Barchester should be able to spend time with residents, working alongside some of our team members to experience a day in the life of a working care home.

Today we were delighted to welcome Michelle Macadangdang, Winchester House's very own Regional Director, who joined staff and helped serve lunch on our Short's Terrace unit.

Michelle chatted with our residents whilst she served lunch.

After lunch Michelle said she had thoroughly enjoyed herself.
