New Care Home Breaks Ground in Hamworthy
National care provider, Barchester Healthcare, marked the start of their newest care home build in Hamworthy, which is under construction by Acheson Construction Ltd.
The 68-bed care home in Hamworthy, set to open in Autumn 2020, will provide high quality residential care services, as well as dedicated dementia care in Barchester’s unique Memory Lane Communities.
To officiate the breaking of the ground at the new site Andy Williams, Senior Property Development Manager for Barchester Healthcare dug the silver shovel into the ground for the first time.
On the day, Andy was joined by Project Manager of Acheson Construction John Bolton, alongside Regional Director Shane Mason and Marketing & Business Development Co-Ordinator Emma Driver to take a tour of the work in progress. The architects of the build, Chris Shearman and Nicole Nelson from TDC Architects also joined the group on the day alongside site surveyor Michael Hilton from Holden & Lee.
After the tour, Andy said: "We’re very excited to begin work on our new, purpose-built care home in Hamworthy. There is a real need for quality care in the local area, and our new home will definitely meet this. Not only will our prospective residents have a home set in beautiful grounds, the new home will potentially give a boost to employment in neighbouring communities. "
Shane Mason, Regional Director for Acheson Construction said ‘Acheson are delighted to be the Contractor of choice for Barchester on another one of their care developments. I look forward to seeing the team working closely together to deliver a high quality project and quality addition to Barchester’s care home portfolio.’
Barchester Healthcare’s Hamworthy care home will open in Autumn 2020 and will deliver personalised residential care as well as personalised dementia care in Barchester’s unique Memory Lane Community.
