2019 Hospitality Champion
Patricia Burnett - Castle Park
Patricia Burnett, Hospitality Manager at Castle Park Care Home in Sutton, Hull was recently crowned the national winner in the Hospitality Champion of the Year category at the 2019 Barchester Care Awards on 3rd October.
Irene Lewis, Hospitality Operations Manager at Barchester and a judge for the category, said of Patricia that “Trish has worked as the Hospitality Manager at Castle Park 10 years and could not be more sincere, kind and caring. Her own mum told her she was born kind. She works hard to keep the home spotlessly clean in her own words, said she wants to give the clients a good standard of living. She knows her clients likes and dislikes and treats them all like friends, going above and beyond for them in her spare time. Trish deserves the award because even off duty Trish is always helping people, even saving someone’s life with CPR with her Barchester training. When questioned about this act of heroism from the local newspaper, Trish humbly said she was glad she could help and didn’t want any fuss, only pleased that the mother of 5 survived. To present this award to Trish is nothing short of an honour.”
Trish said of her win that, “I am very shocked and proud to be receiving this award. We work hard here at Barchester with a focus on the people we care for, and not for accolades, but it really is very special to be recognised in this way.”
