2019 Team of the Year

The team at Threshfield Court Care Home in Skipton, North Yorkshire are celebrating after they took home the trophy for national winner of the Team of the Year category at the 2019 Barchester Care Awards on 3rd of October.

After being shortlisted as one of four divisional winning, the home was visited by category judge Genevieve Glover, Director of HR at Barchester for the final round. The team then joined the other divisional winners from across the UK at a special awards ceremony in October where they were awarded the national prize, and presented with the trophy and a £500 gift voucher by Barchester’s CEO Dr Pete Calveley and category judge Genevieve Glover.

Genevieve said of the team at Threshfield that “What I was most impressive was the enthusiasm of the team at Threshfield. Enthusiastic about learning and developing, both on an individual level and as a team, individuals within the group voiced gratitude to Barchester for providing them with the skills, knowledge and environment to care for their residents.  The team talked about being ‘inter-changeable’ – covering each other’s shifts and utilising individual strengths and team referred to their Senior General Manager Stacey Nicholson, as a facilitator rather than a manager supporting their success. It was extremely impressive to see how the team collaborate and support each other to provide the very best care for the residents they care for and try to do better every single day, a mantra that was inspiring and motivating.”

Stacey, the Senior General Manager of the home said of the home’s win that, “We are very honoured to be receiving this award. We work hard here at our home with a focus on the people we care for, and not for accolades, but it really is very special to be recognised in this way.”
